Visit their kiodisk. A menu with pictures. See my pics. The kiodisk provides more details than their hard copy menu.
I had the bacon baked dumpling and ube cheesecake dessert. Very different. Dessert was awesome. I look forward to new offerings and checking out other menu options. Your orders are made to order. Nice to get it fresh instead of stale.
I am so happy that they have red date and goji berry tea (iykyk). Ever since I moved to Jacksonville from Miami I haven’t found anywhere selling that kind of tea in a cafe setting, so I’m glad I finally found a place that has it.
My husband got the rose strawberry latte and he loved it. We also got a cupcake and the cream doughnut which were so delicious. We will be back soon to try the food next time, everything looked so good!
Edit: I went back to try more and everything was absolutely delicious. It was hard to choose what to get but we ended up getting the Dragon’s Fire tofu, the Potato Salad Toast and the Pistachio Strawberry Hong Kong French Toast. Everything is made to order and it all tasted fresh and delicious. I also got the biscoff cream latte, my husband got a latte in one of the ice cream cone cups. This is our new favorite cafe!
They also offer delicious small plates such as beef, lamb, and duck bao buns, century eggs, spicy Sichuan cucumber donuts, tofu suki, and many more dishes I can’t wait to try the next time I visit.
Definitely stop by and support this locally owned business, I highly recommended!
Gaa Cafe!
A cafe that highlights the “flavors of Hong Kong”.
It was absolutely charming. Super cute atmosphere, extremely friendly staff, and will definitely be back for the food and drinks!
We had: A pineapple and ube mochi donut(large one on the right), honey mochi buns, and and Egg tart. For drinks, an iced Oolong tea with lemon, and matcha latte (I think).
The egg tart was by far my favorite, it was so savory, light and crispy with the perfect sweetness. The crunchy honey mochi buns were a bit heavier but also had the perfect sweetness, and the pineapple ube bun was light and filling!
The matcha was pretty standard! But my oolong was incredible! It was so light and freshing, the lemon complimented the black tea SO well!
I even overheard someone trying their beverage (it was a blue drink) and they said it tasted like lucky charms, so I may have to find that!
Overall: I absolutely look forward to coming back, and would urge you to try it as well!
Feedback: I didn’t realize until AFTER we ordered that they had some unique (small plate) food options! Make sure to look through the kiosk, cause the menu on the counter had it at the bottom so it got a bit lost. The kiosk had some pretty pictures for reference!
The pastry display didn’t look very appetizing, so I played it safe and ordered the “HK-style” French toast, one of the most classic cha chaan teng dishes. Despite the café not being busy, the wait was around 30 minutes, along with just two drinks.
When the French toast finally arrived, it was a big disappointment. This was not Hong Kong-style at all — just a single thick slice of toast with a bit of egg underneath, a light drizzle of syrup, and a small pat of butter. Authentic HK French toast should be two thick slices of white bread with peanut butter in between, fully egg-coated and pan- or deep-fried, then served generously with butter and syrup or condensed milk.
Service didn’t help the experience either. The toast was dry, so I asked for a little more syrup. The owner insisted there was already syrup on it and initially refused. Only after I raised my voice did they reluctantly bring more, which shouldn’t have been necessary.
The drinks were mediocre and forgettable.
The drinks were visually stunning with very creative and unique presentations. You can tell a lot of effort went into how they’re served, which adds to the overall experience. Taste-wise, I found them good but fairly okay, not something that blew me away, but still enjoyable.
Overall, GAA Cafe is a great place if you’re looking for a vibe-driven café with a standout aesthetic and creative drinks. Definitely worth visiting for the ambiance and experience alone, especially if you enjoy places with character and style. ✨☕
