Maui World Travelers
The “Filipino Zippy’s” has other locations on Oahu.

ATMOSPHERE:
The stand alone restaurant has modern decor, and a spacious dining area with regular tables only. There’s a hot food line on one side, refrigeration cases on the other, with the cashier in the middle. Like others have said and will continue to say, parking does suck, especially with what we’re normally accustomed to on Maui. We went in at 2pm on a Sunday and found 2 open stalls.

MENU:
Traditional Filipino fare sold plate lunch-style and by the container, halo halo, breads, desserts. They also do catering.

The selections in the hot food line were not labeled, so be prepared to ask questions unless you want a surprise on your plate.

They also sell a small assortment of Filipino snacks and ingredients.

FOOD:
Chicken Adobo
Bone-in chunks of chicken were chopped up and done in a traditional adobo sauce. The chicken was flavorful, tender, but the sauce was very oily.

Pork & Peas
Their version is savory, thankfully, and done with chopped carrots as well. The pork was tender and overall very tasty. I’d like more peas though.

Fried Rice
The rice didn’t look flavorful at all, but it totally was once it hit my buds. It was stir fried with peas, egg, and sausage. Very fluffy and moist.

Bihon Pancit
Mmm, finally, some place that serves 100% bihon noodles! Very tasty. Other ingredients were carrots and cabbage. I just wish my plate came with more!

Fried Chicken
The pile of chicken looked like a mix of parts, and we ended up with a bone-in, skin-on thigh. The skin was still crispy even though it was sitting out. The meat had a nice savory taste and was fairly moist.

Pork Lumpia
I’m sure it would’ve been good right out of the fryer, but they were room temperature all the way through, skinny, and soggy. The only disappointment of my plate.

Chicken Papaya
Apparently this is sold only in the large container size. The soup of marungay leaves, sliced green papaya, ginger, onion and tender chicken chunks were perfectly seasoned and had excellent taste. Highly recommended.

DESSERET:
Puto
They sell 9 pieces to a tray, colored in yellow, purple, and green. The little steamed discs were moist and mildly sweet. Perfect!

SERVICE:
The female worker was friendly and very patient, even with all of our questions. There is no waiter service. Order to go, or eat in, like a Panda Express if you will.

OVERALL:
Good food, fair pricing. Where’s the mungo beans for that 5th star??

MJMS (MJMS)
It’s very quiet and small place. Selling lots of traditional Filipino foods and desserts. I had the pork Tocino and Dinuguan. Delicious! Well cooked, the cashier was very nice and kind. Recommended some Taho for dessert, very good haven’t had it for a long time! My parents enjoyed some Halo Halo either Uber Ice Cream on top. I would highly recommend this placr. Very new and clean and with a bathroom!

As we say in our national language in the Philippines(Tagalog), “masarap!!!” (delicious) Your usual Filipino snacks, desserts, and other goodies with friendly staff. They also have a hot food line.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had happened at this location. There is no organization when it comes to customers in line to order food or for the bakery side. The lady called on the next person and she looks at a person that came in ten minutes after me and motioned them to come and order. Luckily that customer said I was already waiting in line and so she proceeded to wait on my order. Then to make things worse. I specifically came in to order something that they have a sign hanging up on the window showing that they serve this dish but I was told they were not making this a long time now. Then why is the sign still up and the online menu say that they sell it. This place sucks. Dec. 5, and now I find out they was inspected by the food safety inspector and failed again. Not going there anymore EVER!!

I did not appreciate the customer service this day. The women were not welcoming the food wasn’t labeled and we were asking what the food was and they had attitude and didn’t answer clearly. They just had terrible attitudes and I will NOT be coming back here. I heard great things from my coworkers but my personal experience was trash. I’m sure they have loyal customers but next time be more welcoming to others unfamiliar with the menu.

Ordered some food for a party, they never made it , asked us to wait 10 minutes, 45 minutes later they still didn’t have it. Asked for a refund and couldn’t get one as they kept stalling, finally had to call my credit card company for a charge back , would never order from this guys again.

The food is good.
