Vietnamese food is not easy to find in LA. To be honest there were some hits and misses here. My favorite item is the pork belly banh mi! It’s braised so it just melts in your mouth. The egg rolls are also delicious. They give plenty of veggies to wrap and sauce to dip. I didn’t like the bun rieu. I mean, nothing can compare to the real authenticity of home cooked food like I’m used to. I just thought the soup was too bland and the crab meatballs were a weird texture. I liked the tofu in it. I want to try the bun Bo hue and pho next time. They have more items on their menu that I’d love to taste- like the desserts: Che and flan. Service was friendly, he gave me some good suggestions. Ambiance was relaxed and no frills. Parking was a nuisance bc limited street parking. However, there’s a parking structure down the street.

We ordered to go, so cannot really comment on the service, but the atmosphere inside feels modern, welcoming and warm. The restaurant is already packed by 6:20pm on a Wednesday.

We ordered Bánh mì with chicken and fried egg, and grilled beef noodle salad with egg rolls. The sandwich is my preferred choice. It is very tasty with chewy bread (in a good way), generous portion of chicken and pickle veggies to balance the flavor.

The noodle salad is also not bad, but not as good as another place I go in South Bay (Saigon Dish) with less portion. Not sure if the dine in portion will be bigger though.

If you are hungry, both options are solid, but if you need to choose one, definitely go with the Bánh mì.

Super cute place in the great area for walking around and stopping in bars. The Pho was delicious! It didn’t blow me away with flavor, but it warmed my belly!! Definitely would love to come back and try more of their menu! Rice noodles, but not a ton of GF options available.

Went in on a Wednesday night for a quick dinner. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food comes out quickly and is fresh. Great vege / vegan options. The noodle
Salads were the best! Cute little vibe to the inside a parking stage across the street for a quick walk over with secure parking. Great for a low key catch up dinner.

Yummy Vietnamese food in a bright cafe.
They have a vegan (tofu & wild mushrooms), chicken, beef, and pork option for either Pho (soup), noodles (cold, without the soup), rice, or Ban Mi (sandwich) form. Plus/minus a fried egg.
And the ability to leave off fish sauce and get a vegan broth, if desired.
My husband and I both got sandwiches. The bread was fresh, warm, and perfectly toasted.
It was great.

This place has been open for a few months. I’ve been here a couple of times, and it never disappoints. If me eating pho in this summer heat doesn’t tell you just how delicious the food is, I don’t know what will. The egg rolls were also on point. Overall, the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting, and their service is great. Stop by if you are ever in DT Culver City. You won’t regret it!

We’ve been wanting to try this place since it opened and it didn’t disappont – most of us. Our vegetarian in the party who doesn’t like mushrooms wasn’t a super fan of the vegetarian options as all were heavily mushroom based. As for the pho, it was a pleasant surprise. we got the chicken (toppings on the side) and it came out exactly as ordered and was super tasty. We also got the Thit Nuong Cha Gio and it tasted as great as it smelled. Parking is easy if you just use the Culver City lots.

Nong Lá has a pleasant ambiance, but the overall experience was merely average. The food was decent—neither particularly memorable nor bad. However, the slow service was frustrating, with waitstaff neglecting to refill water and other beverages. If you’re in the area and not in a hurry, it’s worth a try, but don’t expect anything extraordinary.

Nong La is one of my favorite restaurants. The rice steak/pork is my usual order, and the Pho is always enjoyable. You can tell they use high-quality meat for the pho by its thickness and tenderness — not every restaurant uses filet mignon.
