Quality of food very good. Bread was great. Ordered 8″ waygu french dip. could have definitely used a little more cheese – could barely taste it. Dipping jus was very good and right amount.
Seating. 2, 4 tops at front were spacious. but the 3, 2 tops down the narrow corridor with the open kitchen were too tight…doable but not comfortable for a relaxing eat in experience. $17 with bottle soda.
I will definitely return.
The food at Capriotti’s is what makes this place stand out. The menu is diverse, offering something for everyone, from classic subs to unique creations you won’t find anywhere else. I tried their signature sandwich, The Bobbie®, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Featuring slow-roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo on freshly baked bread, it’s like Thanksgiving dinner in sandwich form—comforting, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. Every ingredient tasted fresh and high-quality, which is something I always appreciate in a sandwich shop.
Another standout was their Wagyu Cheese Steak, a luxurious twist on the classic cheesesteak. The tender Wagyu beef paired with melted cheese on an Amoroso roll was rich and indulgent without feeling overly heavy. For vegetarians or those looking for plant-based options, the Impossible™ Cheese Steak is a fantastic alternative that doesn’t compromise on flavor or texture. It’s great to see Capriotti’s offering options that cater to different dietary preferences without cutting corners on taste.
What impressed me most about Capriotti’s was the attention to detail in every aspect of the meal. The bread was soft yet sturdy enough to hold up against hearty fillings without falling apart—a small but important detail that shows their commitment to quality. The portions are generous as well; you definitely get your money’s worth here.
Speaking of pricing, while some might find it slightly higher than your average sandwich shop (a meal typically costs $15-$17), I believe it’s justified given the premium ingredients and portion sizes. You’re not just paying for convenience—you’re paying for a thoughtfully crafted meal that feels like it was made with care.
The ambiance of the shop is another highlight. Located in the Princeton Shopping Center, Capriotti’s offers a clean, modern, and inviting space that’s perfect for both quick lunches and casual dinners with family or friends. While it operates as a fast-casual restaurant, there’s a sense of pride and professionalism here that elevates the experience beyond what you’d expect from a typical sandwich spot.
If I had one small critique, it would be that during peak hours there can be a bit of a wait since everything is made fresh to order. However, I’d much rather wait a few extra minutes for food of this quality than settle for something rushed or pre-made.
Overall, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop in Princeton is an excellent choice if you’re looking for fresh, flavorful sandwiches made with high-quality ingredients. Whether you’re craving something classic like a turkey sub or looking to try one of their more unique creations like The Bobbie®, you won’t be disappointed. The combination of great food, friendly service from people like Jimit Dharia and Reginald Jackson, and a welcoming atmosphere makes this place stand out from other sandwich shops in the area.
**Pro Tip:** If you’re visiting for the first time, definitely try The Bobbie®—it’s their signature item for good reason! Also, don’t hesitate to ask the staff for recommendations; they’re knowledgeable about the menu and happy to help you find something you’ll love. Arrive early if possible—it can get busy during peak hours!
Capriotti’s has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Princeton!!
