Small town restaurants are the best. Great food and wonderful service.

The food had a nice flavor and presentation. The service was poor. The waitstaff had difficulty answering questions regarding the menu. We were a party of 6. The main dishes did not come out at the same time so that the majority of dinners were cold by the time everyone was served. Plates were not cleared in a timely fashion. There was an error with one of the deserts and instead of apologizing and getting the correct desert, the server looked as if she did not know what to do and attempted to walk away without correcting the error. Water was not refilled until after we had finished dinner and desert. It is a shame that a restaurant with a good food selection failed so miserably with the service.

Very nice small restaurant and bar. Gourmet food selection although menu is limited to about 12 entrees with additional specials.
These are proper proportion meals and not for big eaters who need abundance.
100 year old building, very classic

Update: new ownership in the past few years has subtly refreshed this bistro. Expect solidly prepared continental fare with quality ingredients matched with a well curated wine list.
The room itself has an artsy vibe. It is in a charming 19th century building with high ceilings and is open and spacious; there is an attractive bar with bar service, and, thankfully, no tv’s, but occasionally some very good live music!
Relax and enjoy! I like the clam appetizer and the veal as a main course! Also, the single fried oysters as an appetizer really impress!
Pretty much, all the food is very good.

This restaurant was highly recommended to me, so my husband and I were excited to try it out. I was so underwhelmed! The food was average as were the wait staff and ambiance. Aesthetically it is a cute little restaurant, but that’s all I can say. Not sure if we will ever go back, but we may give it another shot.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We ate at a sidewalk table because we had our dog with us. Staff and server were very pleasant, accommodating, and immediately brought a water bowl for our Lab. The food was excellent. My wife loves crab cakes and was very satisfied with her dish. We will return to this friendly restaurant on our next visit to Onancock.

This is such a gem of a restaurant. I went there last night, and it was excellent as usual. The service is always impeccable. We had a lovely wine, and the clams are the best on the shore. And we also had the crab ravioli special which was delicious. I have dined here many times, and feel fortunate to have such a wonderful restaurant so close to home. If you haven’t tried Bizzotto’s, you’re missing out. You really need to get in there.

Over priced and over rated. Slow Friday night. The service was fine, new server but I am sure not a “fine dining” restaurant server should be wearing shorts. Meals- veal parm OK. Veal was too thick had to ask for steak knife to cut it. Marinara sauce good. Overall, not a bad meal. Veal Marsala was also too thick, needed steak knife but overall good. French onion soup bland, tasteless. Was given a serving spoon to eat it with and then a teaspoon. No soup spoons?? Meatball app ok but $13 for 3 small meatballs a bit $$. Ribeye steak special terrible. Had to be sent back. Thin piece of meat, gray in color, no sear. Ordered medium rare, came well done. Unable to cut it and could not even chew it because of the fat. Embarrassing to serve. No apology or check by manager. Overall, nice atmosphere but not so sure about the food.

We were excited to go for a nice dinner and were sadly disappointed. For the price the food was not good. Mussel appetizer was not fresh, main course salmon was delicious but the accompaniments were bad, vegetables not cooked and jasmine rice was a congealed mess. Other meal of cod was good – but all was over- salted. On the upside, great wine, great atmosphere, live music was fun, and the servers were kind and apologetic.

Always our favorite restaurant! My wife and I enjoyed a marvelous evening with Michelle. Karen had broiled cod with mashed potatoes and spinach in a spectacular lemon-garlic-white wine sauce, oh so delicious! I had perfectly seasoned crab cakes with mashed potatoes and spinach. Again, a smashing success and so wonderful. Everything was so fresh and served up at the perfect temperature. We enjoyed tasty cocktails created by bartender, host, and new owner Michelle. What a great meal and fun evening. We can’t wait to go back. Hope to see you there!
