We were driving by and the outside signage was calling our name. This is an old school corner tavern. We ended up staying longer than intended. We met Marty, the bartender and owner, great guy, had everyone going. Also his mom walked in and sat with us and told us the history behind the bar. Everyone in the place were all laughing and sharing story’s, felt like I had known these people my entire life. We will definitely stop in again when we are in the area. Thanks Marty!

Bring cash! That said this place is an amazing time capsule & well worth a stop. Give the neighborhood a walk, there’s plenty of history. If you’re a dive bar fan this place is a must visit!

A quintessential Saint Francis neighborhood bar! Cozy inside, friendly patrons and the best owners. Marty is the nicest fella, local legend around these parts. If ya know ya know! His sister Kelly who bartends is also the sweetest. The drinks are reasonably priced and so are the snacks. If you go a handful of times it truly becomes a place where everybody knows your name.

The five stars are for nostalgia and preservation of a time gone by. Gordie’s is frozen in time. A time before technology took away interpersonal, face to face neighborhoods. A time when everyone knew their neighbors and looked out for one another. Gordie’s hasn’t changed for decades.
I walked in and looked like I was a “brother from another planet.” There wasn’t many choices on offer, so I had a Tito’s and soda. “You mean a Tito’s and seltzer?” “Yeah.”
There were four strangers in the bar at 10:30 on Valentine’s night 2024. One of them yelled at me, “You must be from Whitefish Bay.” I said no. I’m from lots of places, but not Whitefish Bay. By the end of the night, we were all hugging each other and showing photos of our loved ones. Gordie’s was that kind of place. People looked out for each other and had a safe place to go in the neighborhood for a beer and a shot of liquor. Places like Gordie’s won’t last long. Go and enjoy a piece of history.

Terrible, we have lived next door practically for years, know the owners, great establishment except for one night that will taint my experience forever. A bouncer was so incredibly rude to me simply because i was asking to hear what kind of music was playing prior to waiting in line for entry. He was so rude 5’7”buzz cut darker olive colored skin (maybe Hispanic) piece of trash that deserves to be fired not only was rude enough to lose service for the night but even though Gordies is right next door and the next closes bar is 15 minutes away i will never in my life go to gordies again. If you go here it’s out of convenience and you should shame yourself hardily or drive an extra 10 minutes towards lake Geneva city.

Neighborhood bars don’t get any better than Gordie’s. My buddy and I walked in on a Wednesday night and it was packed with friendly people. Small and cozy, great drink prices. Stick around for an hour and you’ll feel like a regular. I believe it’s cash only and there is an ATM in the bar.
