Traditional Thai meals, including curry, noodle & rice dishes, served in a relaxed restaurant.

The tofu garlic and black pepper with jasmine rice was sooooo tasty and garlicky! Just how I like it. Thai tea is, as always, so good.

We tried it once during pandemic and decided to visit again recently. I ordered to go but was surprised to see the portion size is a lot smaller compared to its price. Both Pad Thai and Penang curry were of average flavor. They were good but nothing was really stood out. Given the $15 per item price, you only get portion as big as a Panda Express entree which is disappointing.

It’s been our go-to Thai restaurant for a long time. All the items on the menu are delicious and the portion sizes are generous. The people working there are all kind and friendly. We love the noodle dishes and papaya salad is truly the best. Recommend to try out the mango sticky rice, it is the best in LA so far.

Overall, food was solid. Although it’s a little on the sweet side, it was still really authentic. The portion sizes were great for the price paid. The ambiance is simple yet pleasing. It’s an old Taco Bell that was converted, so seating is limited. Service was extremely fast, but maybe because we came at a later time than normal.
Parking is also limited but there’s street parking. Just a heads up, if you order anything “spicy” get ready to burn some calories…. it’s HOT .

My wife and I visited Ekkamai last night during the final hour of service, about 15 minutes before the kitchen’s last call. We ordered the Chicken Tom Kah, Beef Pad See Ew, and Pineapple Fried Rice.
The service was perfectly fine, and the decor is minimal but clean. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. All of the meats were quite dry and had an unappealing texture. The flavor profiles leaned heavily into sweetness, without the balance of sourness or spice that fans of Thai cuisine expect. Overall, the dishes tasted predominantly salty and sweet, missing the depth and brightness that make Thai food so distinctive.
It’s possible that visiting so close to closing time contributed to the quality issues — though ideally, that shouldn’t be the case. If we find ourselves really craving Thai and in the area, we might give Ekkamai another shot earlier in the evening. Otherwise, we’ll probably opt for other options.

I’ve ordered takeout from Ekkamai probably 25+ times and it never disappoints. Actually shocked to see only a 4.3 star. The pad see ew is by far the best compared to any other takeout Thai. Love the panang and green curry too. The people who work there as always so nice. I prefer it for takeout versus dine in but they have a little covered patio and a few tables inside – minimal overall but totally nice. The portions are hefty – a lot of bang for your buck. I love it so so much.

Loooooove this local family-owned Thai restaurant spot!!! Me and my husband’s go to for quality, delicious Thai food.
Here are some recommendations:
Green Thai Curry (with soft tofu)
Pad-see-yew (combination)
Brown rice
Cream cheese wontons
Thai bbq chicken
Free egg rolls on orders over 30!!!
Such an awesome place for kind staff and reliable food that lasts for days! Hope this restaurant continues to be here for a long time because we are such big fans!!! 🙂

Great Thai spot. Duck panang on point, tom kha not too bad, wontons are real crispy, weird shape they’re like triangles but the fillings all in the very middle, so more than 75% of them is just fried wonton rapper, and the fried rice is real good. Okay pricing on sake/wine, I swear to god this place used to be a taco bell, the inside looks just like one from the 90’s just repainted. Real small interior too, probably less than 25 chairs in the whole place. Parking is not too bad, got its own lot.

Ordered takeout from here last night and it was great! Loved the yellow curry and the pad see ew but weirdly I think everyone’s fav was the stir fried Chinese broccoli. Probably my new west side go to for Thai. Order directly thru their website for better pricing than DoorDash 🙂 food arrived hot in under an hour (pretty good considering we were a 20 minute drive w the evening traffic)

I recently dined at a Thai restaurant in Culver City hoping for a flavorful meal, but unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations. The dishes, including the Pad Thai and Green Curry, lacked the vibrant flavors typically associated with Thai cuisine. Both dishes were remarkably bland, and the ingredients didn’t seem very fresh. The service was okay, with staff being reasonably friendly, but it did not make up for the underwhelming food. The ambiance of the restaurant was average, nothing that stood out or added to the dining experience. Overall, this was a forgettable meal, and I’m hesitant to return or recommend this place when there are better options available in the area.
