Panchos Cantina in Brandon deserves all the hype and then some. We stopped in for dinner and were blown away from the moment the food hit the table. The carnitas came out sizzling on a cast-iron skillet piled high with tender, juicy pork and sweet grilled onions. It was the kind of portion that makes you stop and stare for a second before digging in. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Honestly, this might be my new go-to carnitas spot in Mississippi.
The sides were just as delicious. The rice was seasoned perfectly, the refried beans were creamy with that melted cheese on top, and the fresh lettuce, pico, sour cream, and guacamole rounded everything out. Even the grilled jalapeños were incredible. Everything tasted homemade and came out piping hot.
We also tried the street-style tacos, and those didn’t disappoint either. Packed with meat and onions and served with beans, rice, and sauces, they were a whole meal on their own. Generous portions all around, and everything looked as good as it tasted.
On top of the food, Panchos had live music going, which gave the whole place such a fun, upbeat atmosphere. Great food, great drinks, great music, and friendly service. It felt like the kind of night out you want to repeat.
We had an awesome time and will absolutely be going back. Highly recommend!

Good food, at a reasonable price. The hostess told our two granddaughters to grab a candy cane off the Christmas tree!

I was excited to try this place out because i have heard good things about it. Honestly it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t as great as I thought it would be based off of the reviews. We started out with the queso fundido which was pretty thick and could have had more cheese for $11 in my opinion but the dish it was in was in was pretty short. The chips and salsa were okay, the chips weren’t fresh when they were brought out and the salsa didn’t have much flavor to it. I ended up getting the grilled chicken chimichanga fajita, and when i cut it open it was mostly peppers and onions with a little bit of chicken. Someone else got the shredded chicken chimichanga and it was tiny. I tried a bite of the grilled shrimp quesadilla and it was ok, the shrimp was good but it didn’t have much in it and could have used more cheese and the quesadilla wasn’t really grilled much, a good quesadilla will have a slightly crispy tortilla and this was really just a big soft tacos. The rice and beans were ok nothing special.

Gave 2 stars bc service was ok. Food was awful. Ordered spinach dip it was a glob of tasteless frozen spinach in watery queso, my salad tasted like an old dish rag, my fajitas did not taste fresh the meat had a horrible taste. The other people at the table had tacos with steak that was a big oily tastless glob of just fat. I usually love Mexican food but this was just not good. Just a waste of money. Service was nice and atmosphere was pleasant and spacious.

Been here two times. Just go. The hospitality in this restaurant is amazing. Every staff member has been curtious and very welcoming.
The food is GOOD.
This time I went with my brother for a celebration drink. I ended up getting a fresh pineapple margarita. I wasn’t expecting it to really be a fresh pineapple. But let me tell you. It was good and the bar tender is amazing and always looking to hear your opinion of his creations before he leaves you to your drink.
Don’t sleep on it. Try out Poncho’s.

Been here 3 times now. First visit waitress kept forgetting our order. She could of used a pen and pad. Second visit..waitress had a pen and pad but had to wait what felt like 20 min or more for her to show up to take our drink order. Third time seemed to be good and noticed what I assumed the manager helping the wait staff. That right there will have me back. Plus the food is good and its closer to the house. Its no more expensive than other places in town.

Welcoming service, attentive, food was EXCELLENT!! Reminded me of perfect eats back home in Southern California. Corn tortillas were made to perfection, both carne asada & chicken were tender, plentiful. Portion was generous to say the least! Every ingredient was FRESH!! Honestly, it was a perfect experience. Loved the spacious layout and windows. Great location (small town feel). Staff were all so kind and accommodating. 1st visit but definitely not my last!! New favorite. Truly appreciate what they are accomplishing here at Ponchos!!

Everything was divine; however, the pork belly tacos with pickled onions and cilantro was even better! Excellent service and atmosphere! I would highly recommend for someone wanting upscale Mexican food with a frozen margarita!

I checked them out the first day they opened. The food was great. Service was good. I do want to add a little constructive criticism. They are located on the main street in downtown Brandon and have huge windows. I definitely enjoyed the view. The day I went it may have been about 75 degrees outside and the sun was beaming into the window. Luckily, it wasn’t too hot that day but I can only imagine what it would feel on a summer day. I hope they get the windows tinted! I would visit again.
