A very nice local gem has just sprouted.
First, I was greeted warmly immediately. A wonderful contrast given I just left Foghorn’s next door after 10 mins at bar no interaction from staff.
Second, I smiled as I saw signs of pride in one’s work both at building entrance and along stairs (restaurant is upstairs, w/ elevator access). It is obvious from the get-go.
Third, the art is something I appreciated and admired throughout my meal. I asked the staff, and they confirmed it was in fact a labor of love (my term), made by family for family. Not a product. Art. Pride and joy. Again proud of hard work, something many modern Americans struggle with. Full applause from me! Amazing.
The menu has plenty to choose from and fair prices. I ordered a perfect margarita which came with grenadine, but the staff graciously noted my surprised and compensated a lime margarita even though I insisted it was ok, no need. Class act. (Apparently the perfect margarita has flavor options, recommend clarifying flavor preference with your order).
I ordered mixed fajitas (for two) as shown. Plenty of food, very fresh, and well prepared. Good meal! Would recommend. Not the tastiest fajitas in town but overall outstanding fresh food. More authentic than typical Tex-Mex in seasoning, which I appreciate. Rice and beans a bit on on bland side, standard flavor. Chips are tasty, very thin and fresh, salsa fresh and very mild / blended style.
The food was 4.5 stars relative to local family Mexican. The quality of food and preparation is very high. The environment and service is 5 stars. I was so very impressed considering this is only 1 day after grand opening, gets 5 stars from me. It takes time to get up to speed this is very impressive opening IMO. It is clearly well managed and thoughtfully built.
They also get the PTSD veteran and good ol boy network seals of approval from this disabled American. I did not feel disabled here. I felt welcomed as family and with proper respect all humans deserve. Music levels are not invasive to conversation or earbuds. Perfect.
