-made jalapeno tequila margarita made by Tom the bartender. Each sip enhanced by an agave nectar and tajin rim. Delic!!
Started with Gorgonzola wedge salad and followed with the double smash-burger and the hot-house chicken sandwich made for a great share with my husband! Fries were awesome.
For desert we had espresso martini shots and the apple crumble special. Soooo good!
Well done Tom, Leo & Navon!! Took great care of us.
Issue 1- we got there in 30 minutes, which was the direction they gave us, but the food was pretty soggy by the time we got home the containers don’t really have any vent holes so all of it it became soggy
Issue 2- my buffalo chicken wings had to be put in the air fryer. They were basically sludge on the outside.
Issue 3- The cheese bread that we ordered wasn’t fully baked it had that almost Play-Doh like texture of bread that hasn’t finished cooking, and it tasted very yeasty/ i’ve made that mistake before when baking in my own home so I can definitely recognize the signs.
Issue 4- The Caesar salad I ordered for $14 had a solid cup of lettuce in it insane. (I’m 5,1 so my hand is SMALL I wear a size 5 ring for perspective)
And for some reason, it didn’t taste like Cesar? It was pre-tossed so due to the container it was in, the lettuce became mega soggy, and because there wasn’t enough dressing, it tasted bitter and like only lettuce since they didn’t include extra dressing on the side.
Maybe the food is better in person! honestly because of the price I’m afraid to take another chance, Maybe they Just put it in a really awful container. You need containers that allow steam to escape, otherwise it steams the food = soggy .
I don’t know there’s lots of competition in Fairfield they wont catch me again thats for sure.
around 85-90 bucks for 3ppl,
Nice staff!!! 🙂
The fries? Crispy, salty, and impossible to stop picking at. The kind you keep eating even while saying “last one.” Yeah… good luck with that.
And whoever’s behind the bar knows what they’re doing — the Aperol Spritz was clean, refreshing, and actually mixed like someone’s had more than one before. Not flat, not watered down — just solid.
On top of that, the music hits the right vibe — not annoying, not background noise, just good tracks that make the whole place feel alive.
Ryebird doesn’t try too hard — it just works. Good food, good drinks, good soundtrack. Exactly the kind of place you end up staying longer than you planned.
I spotted an alcoholic milkshake on the menu and asked if they could make it without alcohol- they said yes. Everyone else at the table got their drinks, but mine didn’t arrive for about 30 minutes. Our server explained the milkshake machine had gotten stuck and it took several people to fix it. He only took our food order after I suggested we go ahead and put it in since we’d been waiting so long.
For the table we ordered cheesy bread and mac and cheese. The cheesy bread was good; the mac and cheese tasted like Kraft Deluxe. I got the day boat cod sandwich, which I’d liked as takeout the other night, but this time too much sauce made the bun soggy to the point of falling apart and the cod was noticeably less seasoned. My girlfriend enjoyed her seafood linguine. My friends ordered the salmon and the steak- both said they were underwhelming, with the salmon underseasoned and the steak too fatty and bland.
Between the milkshake delay and slow food, we were there about 90 minutes, and most of that wasn’t spent eating. A disappointing experience in a really nice setting- the atmosphere deserves better.
The real surprise standout was the bacon-crusted shrimp. Absolutely addictive. The shrimp were cooked just right, and that smoky bacon crust gave it a perfect crunch and tons of flavor. It’s one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave.
Great service, clean space, and food that feels crafted rather than thrown together. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend!
