We like this place alot. It’s great for take out and special occasions too. Our favorites are the sesame chicken and vegetable fried rice. The spring rolls are great, too!

Amazing food, amazing service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The waiters/waitresses are very respectful, and helpful. The cooks are very quick. We ordered some soup, and about a minute later, it was at our table. We ordered three more dishes as entrees, and they all arrived in around 5 minutes after ordering. They gave us high quality food, in an upscale location and dining room.

The dishes served at this restaurant are impeccable. You’ll barely have a chance to enjoy your first cup of tea when your food will arrive. The kitchen is literally that fast. The atmosphere is very relaxing with lots of windows to enjoy the downtown Portland area.

Good happy hour drinks and food menu. Big screen TVs and an interesting ice-bar set up. Ambiance is just okay and the staff doesn’t speak English well. The regular bartender is great, but the restaurant staff that fill in don’t know much about drinks, and there is that language barrier that can make for challenging or entertaining ordering at times. 🙂

By no means is this the best Chinese food in Portland, but it’s decent enough. It’s also consistent. I’d give it 3 stars if not for the fact that it has also offered to-go service at times when other downtown Chinese restaurants temporarily canceled theirs. That reliability gives this place bonus points.
Edit: Posting here since my edit suggestions keep getting ignored. Mandarin Cove closed on Jan 1, 2018.

This is my first Chinese food I’ve tried in PDX and I was impressed! We ordered takeout. The chicken used for the sweet & sour chicken was high quality meat, and the sauce was served separately so it wasn’t soggy. No stringy fatty questionable pieces of meat, all good stuff. The breading was perfect. Good house fried rice too. And the general tso sauce I tasted (stole some broccoli) was really good. I will definitely be going back to try more!

Some of the worse Chinese food ever. Sweet and sour pork was soggy and undercooked, we had take out and they poured the sauce on top making it more soggy. Chicken chow mien was spaghetti noodles drenched in garlic ordered and was charged extra for cashews that never existed.. Fried won ton were undercooked and soggy as well. Highly DO NO recommend, felt I was really taken on this. Will not do this place again and they should consider a refund.

Horrible dining experience. Parking isn’t easy and the staff is clueless about giving directions. In fact most of the staff barely speak English so even ordering from the menu is difficult.
We went to MC for my birthday dinner. Big mistake! My SO told the hostess that it was my BD and she expected something after dinner but nothing came. No desert, no song nothing. It actually would have been nice to just have someone say happy BD. The appetizer platter is really expensive at $17 for two. The fried won tons are basic with no cream cheese or crab. In fact the whole platter was just wasn’t memorable. We had the mongolian beef which was tough and not cooked with cabbage but with rice noodles and scallions. The MC chow mein was bland as well. Really can’t see a reason to eat there as this meal cost us $43 and wasn’t at all special. We had to ask them to turn on the music as it was so quiet. We were the only patrons at 8PM! Save your time and money and order takeout from Happy Panda! Edit; Thankfully it closed on New Years Day 2018. Whew!

We ordered through Grubhub so we did not eat there, but the food was good quality, fast and tasted amazing. Mongolian Beef, Fried Rice and Sweet and Sour Shrimp were our favorites.

Very consistent if not great. Very good deals on take out. Good lunch specials especially if you work in the area. Are used to work nearby and this was a regular place for several of us to get lunch to go and we kept going back
