After a negative experience the owner went ABOVE and BEYOND to make it right! He personally delivered so much delicious food to our front door that I stood shocked! He just secured some Forever ❤️ customers! The negative experience was completely understandable after he explained to me what happened. I’m so thankful that I actually reached out to him and gave him the opportunity to make it right because now we have another really good restaurant to visit in the area. Hands-down, this is by far the best customer service I have ever received. The ribs are by far the best I’ve ever had too!!!! Honestly, there’s not enough stars for me to put on this review.

Ya Betta Eat Cajun is absolutely top-notch in every way! The food is beyond exceptional, with truly authentic Cajun flavors that transport you straight to Louisiana. The jambalaya is some of the best I’ve ever had—even after visiting the heart of Cajun country, I can say with confidence that this restaurant captures the essence of Louisiana cooking perfectly. Every bite is packed with mouth-watering seasoning and bold flavors.

The staff is superb—friendly, attentive, and excellent at communication. From the jambalaya to the gumbo, everything is fresh, delicious, and made to perfection. I’m so happy to have this hidden gem in our town, and I hope it stays here forever. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out—this is a must-visit spot that deserves all the praise!

My husband had the meat platter or meat sampler for $24, came with 2 sides. The meat all tasted very similar to me. My husband enjoyed it. The Cajun Chicken Alfredo was very good, Mac and cheese was bland to me. Waffle fries were good but it was a very small portion. They were out of boudin balls that day, which is what I was looking forward to.

I was turned off by FOX NEWS blaring on the TV when I entered the building but I’m an out of towner and I Really wanted some ribs. Upon arrival, I found out that a BBQ Smokehouse only serves ribs on Saturday. The cashier greeted me but she was NOT welcoming. The only options were different varieties of a chicken offering and pulled pork. No ribs, no brisket AT A SMOKEHOUSE! I opted for the pulled pork. It was SO DRY. The only BBQ sauce available was that very sweet sauce. No spicy ️ no savory AT A CAJUN Smokehouse! I had coleslaw as my side – WAY TOO MUCH MAYONNAISE and I like mayo but that was overkill. The specialty “go to” item was supposed to be beignets. Of course they didn’t have any. Go figure. They could really turn it into a good little eatery but they need to consult with someone in the business to give them honest advice and feedback.

The food is absolutely amazing and you can’t ask for better service! They are also very active in the community which makes them even more valuable to the city. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for great Cajun food or BBQ. It’s worth the extra few miles for travelers to come into town from the interstate.

The food here is absolutely off the chain. I have been to New Orleans french quarter several times soley for the food. This place could be on Bourbon St. I am so happy right now. I haven’t had food this good in a long time. We will definitely be back. The boudin balls, gumbo, ribs, brisket is so good i don’t want to leave!.

Owner Chris Courville, has brought the best of two different tastes including Cajun and barbecue to downtown Clanton with his restaurant Ya Better Eat Cajun Smokehouse. When you walk into his location you are greeted with a welcome smile and a friendly face. Then as you can see when walking up to order the food not only smells fabulous the offerings on the hot bar look delicious. On any given day, other than the Mondays and Tuesdays they are unfortunately closed on, you can find a variety of meats and sides available. The meat choices available include everything from turkey, chicken, and shrimp to some of the best ribs and brisket I have ever tasted. The meats tastes as if they have been rubbed in Chris’s own special blend of Cajun herbs and spices, slow cooked and then kissed by the fire. The fantastic food offerings do not stop with the meats that can be served as a standard entree, made into a sandwich or topping, anything from a sandwich to some fresh fried waffle fries, baked potatoes, or nachos. Chris also offers some of the best Cajun corn I think I have ever tasted, jambalaya, and pastalaya that is made fresh in house daily. Not to mention the boudin balls and gumbo that are the best I have ever tasted on this side of the Mississippi. If you still have room or even for a snack for later you should definitely try the beignets that are a flavor profile that you will never forget. If you have sampled Cajun food in the past and are looking for a new restaurant to try or are just looking for something new to try my family and I highly recommend trying Ya Better Eat Cajun Smokehouse. We have found our new favorite lunch and dinner spot here in Clanton, Alabama.
