We arrived and noticed a nice-sized shared parking lot. Luckily, we found a spot right in front of the restaurant. I’d heard before coming that this taco restaurant was in the same location where Cala Bar and Grill used to be. When we first approached, the place looked deserted and didn’t even seem open. I tried the door closest to my parking spot, but it was locked. We walked to the left, tried another door, and that one opened. We entered and barely received a greeting. It looked like only two people were working the front of the house. We told one of the staff members that we wanted to sit outside, and we were met with a monotone “alright.” She followed us outside, dropped off a small stand with a QR code, and said she’d be right back. Then things slowed down. After waiting a little while, I went back inside to let the bartender know we were ready to order. She said she’d let our server know. While we were waiting, I noticed the outside windows could have used a good wipe down, there were smudges everywhere. When our server arrived, she was very apologetic and pleasant. Her mood had definitely brightened up from when we were 1st greeted and we found out her name was Storm. By then, we had thoroughly reviewed the menu, which really had a lot of interesting options to choose from. We were ready to order drinks and food. Wifey and I both ordered Red Stripe beers. For entrées, I chose the Pollo Asado, and she ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla. The server explained that the Pollo Asado takes a little longer to cook and asked if we wanted an appetizer. We were debating between queso, guacamole, or both, and she suggested the Nachos appetizer since it came with both queso and guac, and it would be cheaper. That was a great tip, and we appreciated it. As we sat outside, we noticed some ants on the high-top table, so we decided to move inside. The bartender saw us and told us to pick any table we wanted. We found a small table for 2 and waved down our server to let her know about the move. She came over with the nachos, which arrived quickly and looked great. She then explained that the refrigerator was broken, so the Red Stripe beers weren’t cold, and the Modelo on tap wasn’t working. We quickly checked the remaining beer options, and my wife switched to her favorite,Blue Moon, while I went with a Creature Comforts Tropicalia. There was a little confusion with the beers at first, but it got sorted out. We snacked on the nachos and nearly finished all the chips. Our server, Storm, kindly offered to bring out more chips so we could scoop up the leftover nacho goodness. She also said she’d check on our food. When the entrées arrived, they were pretty big portions and everything looked delicious. I started digging into my Pollo Asado and I could tell it was deep fried and maybe a little too long. It was crispy on the outside but some of the actual chicken inside was dry and over cooked. As I mixed it with the Chimicuri sauce it tasted better and provided a little moisture to the chicken. Wifey loved her Shrimp Quesadilla and commented that she definitely would have enough to take home. There were definitely a few hiccups during our first visit to Smash. Overall, the food was very good, but some of the service issues and cleanliness brought my rating down a little bit. That said, I’m rooting for this place and plan to come back to try one of the desserts, either the Tres Leches or the Churro Bread Pudding. My rating is a 3.5

Atmosphere is great and cute for a date night. Tacos lacked flavor and were dry! Wasn’t very fresh as I received wilted cilantro. We happened to be the only ones there and it still took 30 mins for 6 tacos…

Food was ok. Tacos were dry and had more cilantro than meat.
Salad was ok. We had a large group and most enjoyed the drinks. Cute atmosphere. The server was pleasant. DJ came and he was good.

I would have loved to give this experience a 5 star but service matters. Food was tasty, flavorful and drink was delightful. Ambiance was nice with good music. But the service? Thumbs down! The bartender took care of us and he should’ve stayed at the bar. If you can’t be attentive to your table, do not pick up tables outside the bar. Appetizers took 45 mins and we ordered cheese and queso and ceviche. They must’ve been milking the cow and scaling the fish, how long it took. The bartender wasn’t attentive that he didn’t even notice how much time had passed or he did and did not care. It does NOT take 45 mins for chips and dip. It was literally 6 tables and they all had been there for a while. Literally 1 appetizer and 2 meals came out for the other tables since we’ve been there. After we finally got our food, other guest came in and got their appetizer in a reasonable time. So, it’s not the kitchen as I thought, it may have been 1 cook. Im sure the bartender could tell we were concerned about the length of time because I asked but NOT once he extended an apology. He just replied “it’s a lot of ppl” but, as I stated those tables had been dining a while and only a few dishes went out, they were mostly ordering drinks & shots. When we asked for more chips 10-15 mins went by, I had to ask the server and it still took another 10mins after she told him. Queso was cold by then and the chips he brought was all crunched up, bottom of the barrel. He really only came over to pick up and drop off plates. I guess this the type of service you get when you automatically billed an 18% gratuity. It was not deserved. If you’re looking for tasty dishes go for it but don’t expect spectacular service. Need I remind yall it’s Redan Rd , so hey !

Storm has been my server both times and she is very prompt and sweet. I enjoyed both outings although the music was a bit loud for a Tuesday evening on my last visit. Other than that this seems like a nice addition to the neighborhood and a great place to have a good meal while working or relaxing.

I ordered the spicy shrimp taco and blackened salmon taco, with the cilantro lime rice and plantains. The food is pretty decent. Spicy shrimp was really spicy! My guy just ate the wings- and they were really small. But reminded me of a “tapas” style with the small plates.

It was $2 Tuesday. Of course I had the $2 tacos.
The decor was nice. The vibe was grea! The music was good but too loud. You can’t hear without yelling directly in someone’s ear. That’s not practical for a restaurant.
The menu options are fantastic! I can’t wait to try other items.

Went for tacos on a Tuesday with a homegirl, real impromptu. But now this will be our spot. Chante was an amazing server, knowledgeable, helpful and sweet. The music was great, the Dj was super smoothe and the food yummy. The corn was the best thing!!!! The Queso was fresh, chips crispy and a lot of taco options.

Had a great experience here. Employees were welcoming. My waiter was very helpful and patient. Food was good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the margaritas but I really enjoyed my rum punch. I would rate 8 out of 10! Look to be back. Thanks

Escape to the Caribbean Mexican fusion restaurant in Stone Mountain, Georgia at Smash Tacos & Tequila. Nice atmosphere. Unwind during Happy hour on Friday’s from 4-6pm. They serve up plates packed with flavor, including mouthwatering chicken quesadillas, loaded shrimp tacos and signature elote chicken tacos. I had a mango margarita that was refreshing. Although, I didn’t taste much alcohol. The drink was watered down. Our server named Jaiden, provided great service. He was attentive and knowledgeable of the food and drink menu.
