Ok, let me start out stating I do not like vinegar base bbq. This place is vinegar base so with that said it was much too strong for my palate. The vinegar was so strong I had to eat a piece of bread with each bite. My husband had the rib plate and he said he had better. We like our coleslaw creamy, this was not creamy. He really liked the stew, I did not but again, I usually don’t eat the stew as I have never cared for it. The lady that waited on us was very friendly. We wanted half and half tea and she brought over a pitcher each of sweetened and non sweetened tea. I like that as we could make it to our individual taste. Even though I didn’t like most of what I ordered it’s a great place if you like vinegar base bbq. If I had known it was vinegar base bbq, we would not have stopped. My husband just asked for tic tacs as the vinegar is still lingering and I said I was just about to write that in my review. The vinegar taste is still so strong on my palate. The floor of the eating area is covered with wood shaving. It was clean but very unusual floor covering.

Came in at 10:30 on a Friday morning and they were ready for me. Enjoyed every part of my visit. I devoured the BBQ Plate with slaw and stew, a great way to start my day!

Small hometown restaurant located in White Plains, GA. Holcomb’s Barbeque, sits up off the road has plenty parking. Outside looks very clean , easy in and out location. Traveling threw the area on a Friday or Saturday. Drop in and grab you a bite to eat and show your support.

You know it’s a great place if it’s only open on Friday and Saturday! The bbq, brunswick stew, and slaw were great! The sawdust covered floor added to the nostalgia.

They were fixing to close when I got there so I had to settle for BBQ sandwiches which were about the best I have ever eat.

Been going since the day they opened up in 1971 I believe the year was. We go just about every week to eat and pick up loads of stew and BBQ for family and friends. Just an old country place but very well known around the state and some other states out west. Great folks and very friendly but of course they all know me. Lol

The food is excellent. The food is consistent.
The atmosphere is what a barbecue joint should I have.
There’s a good reason that it has been in business as long as it has.
I can understand why people drive from all over the state to eat here.
I’ve enjoyed it for most of my life.
I understand that everyone has their preferences, but I believe their brunswicks too is probably as good as it gets. I make plans to stop here whenever I’m in the area.

I have never been to this area before and I stopped by on our whim and got the barbecue plate to go and thank God on open the plate and looked at it because the Brunswick stew was runny or than most soups that I’ve ever eaten. After popping some bread in the Brunswick stew it was finally thick enough to eat and actually had really good flavor and I love the vinegar taste on the pulled pork but it was just too watery so to say, and I don’t prefer Michael small sweet I prefer it tart so It just missed on all fronts with me

Nice stop in an out of the way place on a road that I’ve never travelled. Pulled pork sandwiches were good and the hospitality was awesome. Not crazy about the wood chips that covered the floor but I guess it’s a part of their charm! They’re only open on Friday and Saturday but definitely a place I would frequent if I’m ever “in that neck of the woods” again.

I’m sure this review will be deleted like the last one. Folks, the BBQ is not good. The Brunswick stew is bland, watered down. Don’t waste your money on the sides. So this is the only restaurant for 20 miles, it must be the best restaurant for 20 miles. Thus the 5-star reviews. Really?
