We have not been so happy with our local outback here in Salem Oregon. We thought we would give it another try tonight after two bad experiences.
Tonight when they sat us down the cushion had a big tear in it about 18 inches long. I really feel they should have extra seat cushion they could replace these with. Not a big deal just does not look so good.
We ordered our food and an appetizer. The appetizer never came so the server forgot well maybe not that big of a deal but so far tonight two strikes against them. The manager was nice and gave us a free blooming onion for next time.
The two times before eating here we also had issues so I am sure we will not be back for a while. Really for a good steak and service we prefer the best little road house here in Salem.

The food was far too salty, or far too sweet. The salads are a joke. A bit of lettuce hidden under a pile of cheese and drowned in dressing. The chicken was ridiculously salty. The only thing that had real flavor in my dish was the grilled shrimp. Everything I ate six hours ago is now being outright rejected by my body.
Also, the restaurant was far too dark, made me feel sleepy. Service was ok, they checked in often, were friendly.

Outback is right. Un-inviting atmosphere. Uncomfortable seating and for the prices i would expect full meal, not fries with your steak. Plenty of other steak places i would rather eat at with lower prices and full meals.

despite all the negativity this restaurant has gotten we gave it a try – the first 2 times was awesome so we went back for a 3rd – HUGE mistake and waste of money – a party of 4 the bill was $100 and I would have expected better service – silverware was dirty, had food on it and very greasy so we had to get new ones – i had asked for gluten free beer when he took our drink order he came back to table and said they were out and walked away i was like oh hey hello wait i’d like to order something else – thats when we should have walked away no waiter/tress does that they always ask what would you like instead DUH! – i ordered a strawberry margarita it was horribly sweet and had no alcohol in it and took 15 to 20 mins to arrive – then i ordered a 7&7 he didn’t even know what it was so i explained it to him and it arrived 20 minutes later with 3/4 alcohol and very little 7up – then when we ordered desert that took 1/2 to arrive – the kicker is there was only 2 other tables he had and one left as we got our food and the other was sitting down just about the time we were finishing up our food and getting ready to order desert – so if he can’t handle 3 tables he needs to find a new job and he certainly can’t bartend either – when i complained to manager he gave us an expired certificate for a free dinner for 2 – well we couldn’t use it cuz it was expired even though we brought in the envelope it came in with the paid postage date on it – when i emailed restaurant they ignored me !!!!!! i guess our business and money don’t matter to them – i don’t see outback being around much longer with all the negativity they have gotten and i agree with others who say there are better places to get your steak and seafood and for better prices as well – its not worth the overpriced food to be treated so badly – i expect that kindof service from a fast food joint not a $20 a plate restaurant !!!!!!!
