Mason Jar, 200 Southpoint Loop, Livingston Texas!!! Best food in south Texas! Cody the owner takes southern hospitality to a new level. Staff…..friendly, respectful, giving amazing service! Everything about this location is on point! The food is top quality. The chicken fried steak hands down the best you will find in the USA. The banana pudding will make a banana hater fall in love. Definitely worth a drive even if you do not live in the area. They also offer catering services and full order smoked briskets. Get your Christmas order placed while available. Hands down food worth every penny spent. You will not be disappointed.

We came on a friends recommendation and were not disappointed. The chicken wings were delicious – a bit messy – I got the BBQ so next time (yes there will be a next time) I will try them naked with the sauce on the side. The onion rings were crisp and not greasy at all. Very yummy. My husband’s Philly cheesesteak was good he said, but a bit too cheesy. His fries were like my onion rings – crispy and not greasy.

So I never finish a full plate of food. I ATE ALL BUT LIKE 3 FRIES!!!! It was SO good I only gave my dog 1 peice and he didnt even get any leftovers. The patio is pet friendly!!! Major bonus! I had the chicken fried steak with Mac n cheese and fries, the hubs got the hamburger steak with green beans and fried okra. We both tasted each other’s food too and NEITHER of us were disappointed in a thing! Veronica was our server and she was good. The bloody Mary was very tasty as well. Def found a spot we have to stop at!!!!

The food was fantastic. the employee who behaved as though a store manager would took great care of my girlfriend. myself and our puppy service was outstanding and they even recognized that it was my birthday and offered me a free dessert. they are amazing and I recommend it highly!

We had a great visit! Service was a tad slow due to lunch traffic. Food was worth the wait. We have the boudin balls, so tasty and we shared the bbq chopped beef fries. Best we’ve ever had! Highly recommend. Welcoming atmosphere.

I enjoyed a Baked Potato with BBQ Chipped beef at The Mason Jar Cafe Bar & Grill in Livingston, TX. earlier today. $15 but it was satisfying,filling, & a good value. I could have spent less but I couldn’t resist the BBQ beef.
The couple next to me were having fried catfish. I can’t speak about the taste but the portions were generous & it looked really good.
I wasn’t crazy about the credit card fee but the service was good & the staff was friendly. They just opened this past Tuesday 10/14/25. The only reason I know they’re open is I was in the area. They’re on Southpoint Dr. over there near the Boot Barn.
I give them 4 Stars!

Sat down to eat a chicken fried steak at Mason Jar and was approached by a rough looking fellow who asked for my drink order. I ordered a Lone Star beer. He looked at me disgustingly and said we don’t serve Lone Star. I said you have a big lone Star sign in the bar area. He then threw the drink menu on the table and walked off. Good thing that fellow didn’t work for me!!

The broccoli soup was like instant soup. The catfish tonight was very salty. I ordered take out the catfish dinner and only got one piece of fish. Always been good but I guess moving to the big city the atmosphere was more important than the food!
