A beautiful, well-orchestrated dining experience — timing, service, and setting truly shine.

The Grand Tier is a very elegant restaurant and a perfect complement to an evening at Lincoln Center. The menu is refined and absolutely worthy of fine dining, with thoughtful flavors and strong technique.

That said, the execution on some starters felt a bit less fresh than expected — more pre-prepared than made to order — which slightly took away from the culinary experience at this level.

Where The Grand Tier truly excels is service and timing. The staff is impeccable: efficient, attentive, and incredibly well organized. Everything is designed around the rhythm of the performance, allowing guests to enjoy a proper meal without ever feeling rushed — which is no small feat.

The highlight of the evening was our waiter’s suggestion to return during intermission for dessert — a warm chocolate soufflé, served perfectly. It was outstanding and turned a great evening into a memorable one.

Yes, it’s expensive — but as a special occasion or once-in-a-lifetime experience tied to a performance, it’s absolutely worth it.

I booked us here because it was convenient for the opera, obviously. I was pleased with the food and the service, and it was lovely to be able to sit and admire the venue. Loved that we could order dessert and have it waiting for us at intermission.

I dined at the Grand Tier restaurant before attending an opera. It was my birthday so we went all out. The food was delicious. Having dessert during intermission was fantastic. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make my birthday feel really special.

PS. Get the prix fixe meal. I had the cannelloni for an appetizer, angus beef for dinner, and the soufflé for dessert!

Dining at the opera house is a special experience (especially enjoying the soufflé during intermission). Elegant and vibrant atmosphere. Food creatively presented and delicious! The staff friendly & attentive. My overall experience is positive of the few times I’ve been there.

Last night’s #Grand Tier Experience was truly exceptional, reaffirming my faith in #amazing dining. As someone who regularly indulges in upscale eateries like #LexYard, #Four Twenty Five, and #Peak, I can attest that Chef #Florian’s culinary expertise elevates the genre. With a #Boston upbringing surrounded by the freshest seafood, I’ve developed a discerning palate for #lobster. The #beet appetizer and #lobster thermidor were masterfully crafted, showcasing Chef #Florian’s unwavering commitment to excellence. Team #Patina’s outstanding service and dedication to delivering unforgettable #experiences truly shine. Your fan, Bonniefrom The Neighborhood

Exception dining before the Opera at the MET. Dessert could be served during intermission if you’d like. They catered to my allergies and brought a special dessert for a birthday and recent celebration.

This time our trip to NYC was primarily to go to a matinee opera show at the Metropolitan Opera – so we decided to go big and splurge on lunch at The Grand Tier. You can’t beat the proximity and presentation was top notch/fancy. It was quite expensive and the food tasted just okay, but then this isn’t the type of place that any reasonable person would go to looking for a deal. 100% an experience play. For what it’s worth, everyone around us really seemed to be enjoying themselves.

My husband and I recently dined at The Grand Tier at the Met Opera. We ordered the Pavlova and Dacquoise desserts, and both were absolutely delicious—an unforgettable treat that truly made the night special. We absolutely love this restaurant and the Metropolitan Opera.

Had brunch at the Met . We entered and man at the front told the waiter to escort us to our table . He seated us at a distant table with view of construction away from rest of guests. There were several empty seats with great view . After being asked he moved us to where we wanted but that was unacceptable ! Then the waiter a different one came and his service was rude arrogant and patronizing ! Quite inattentive and rushing at our table ! Food was good and it is the Met ! But the original seating given was unacceptable and service by the waiter was unacceptable ! Considering we were ethnic minority I consider this discrimination ! Review is 2 star ! I tipped decent which I should not have !

This restaurant should be called the Grand Rip-Off. We were there today before the Opera. The staff was wonderful, they took our order immediately. Our food arrived quickly. No complaints so far.
We ordered 2 appetizers, 1 salad and a salmon dish with 1 glass of wine.
The bill was $215.00. The appetizers were fair not wonderful, the salmon dish was so so. The glass of wine had a weak pour. With tip it was over $250.00. We did leave a decent tip, wasn’t her fault that the pricing was out of line.
Don’t eat here, get a drink at the bar and go out afterwards, somewhere you can get what you want and not be disappointed and feel ripped off.
