Very good! First clue was how great it smelled outside. Menu options or buffet, and we opted for the latter after laying eyes on it. Tasty deliciousness. Hubby was impressed with the fried chicken (XL sized chicken legs) and the smothered pork chops and lasagna had me torn..so I mmmmed both down. Left room for ice cream (okay, I got a baby cone) and glad we did. Server was great, very friendly. Overall welcoming, comfy place. Looking forward to next visit.

Amazing!! I can’t stress this enough huge portions. Great friendly atmosphere. They also serve some spring diper ice cream! They also have a buffet! The fries are hand cut! The ranch seems to be homemade and is very good. Do yourself a favor and give them a try! The sandwich in the picture I think is the rascal is a sandwich with Mac n cheese and pulled pork between two grilled cheese sandwiches. I have also bad a few of the other burger options and you can get pretzel buns!

Had breakfast there last week with friends. The Pancake was the best I have ever tasted. It was as big as a hubcap and over an inch thick. One was plenty for two people. Our server was wonderful as well. Definitely will go back in our future visits.

Service was amazing! They are so accommodating to large groups and even stayed open later when the family came over after uncle Docs service. Food was great! Fried pickles perfect! And the best Philly steak I’ve had in a long time. Food came fast and hot. Thank you all so very much

The rustic charm of this place drew us immediately in! Sandy waited on us and she is hilarious and very sweet! Her recommendations were excellent! Their Bourbon Burger was amazing and the (brown) gravy on their mashed potatoes was just like my Grannie used to make, the best ever! I can’t wait to return!

Sorry for the delayed review, but my husband and I just moved to town and we stopped in here a few weeks ago. The food was incredible. My husband had the mac n cheese burger and I had a spud with veggies. Delicious!!! The owners were there with a few regulars. Very respectful and polite, welcoming people. I highly recommend this place.

Well worth the 30 min travel to eat here. Best buffet around!! They cook like my Grandmas did. Not only do they have amazing food, but they also help out their community in many ways. Tessa and Rick are great people who are honest and hardworking. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!!

It’s now called the Feed Sack. New owners, but basically the same menu without chicken fried steak. Tried buffet for first time and salad bar was wonderful and the fried chicken thighs the best I’ve ever had. Service was great both times we went.

I really like this place. In my opinion it’s the best restaurant in the county though I never go there for breakfast since I mostly go to the Country Cottage for breakfast;it’s closer but it isn’t open at supper time. Corn-fed has the best burgers and a supper buffet. I will drive to Alton just to eat there though the first time I was in Alton on business.

Love this place, one of my all time favorites and I’ve been all over the place. This is the place cracker barrel is modeled after, but its the real deal! So glad we found Corn Fed Rascal on our visit to dad’s a few years ago. It’s a must stop every time we’re in town now!
