Love coming here! Decent hours, friendly employees, and a great variety of ice cream. My favorite is the brownie sundae. I swap out the vanilla ice cream for coffee and add peanut butter with the fridge. So yummy!

This restaurant no longer exists so Google maps need to remove it. I have lived in Skowhegan for a year and a half and it’s empty and has not been in business the whole time I lived here so if you see this don’t bother with the restaurant it doesn’t exist.

Mmhmm. Looking for a nice pit stop as you pass through bustling Skowhegan, this is your place! Soft serve or mixed ice cream, either are a good choice. Plenty of outdoor seating and you listen to the pleasant sound of water down the nearby river. Yes – they take credit card so don’t worry if you don’t have cash!

Owner is very rude, threw an absolute fit about me taking a photo of the menu!(Visible from the public sidewalk BTW). He was instantly hostile, I could barely get a word in as he repeatedly told me taking photos of his business without his permission was harassment. Threatened to call the police if I posted the photos and didnt leave immediately. As someone running a neighboring business, I could never imagine treating a customer that way. To the owner, if you are reading this anything visible from public can be legally photographed without your permission and having your menu online could only serve to help you. No need to be that way

It’s wonderful to know that a local family has kept the tradition of this ice cream stand. The owners really care about the quality of their products and it shows. Peaceful location with shaded outdoor seating. It’s a required stop for any motorcycle ride.

Owner either must be trying to go out of business or should get some friendly help. Ice cream stands should be a fun experience!
Decent ice cream but very grumpy service and NO SAMPLES!!!! What’s up with that???? Never heard of such a thing.

Went today for the first time, owner was very rude. Told my boy in a demeaning manor to get of the table. As an owner, I would have been a bit friendlier. My boy wasn’t jumping or being reckless on the table. Guess the family who was there before us, must have had special permission to sit on the special table. Won’t be going there again.

Good choices to satisfy your cold treat emergency. No reason not to go here. Plan your trip so you don’t need to exit with a left turn there are some traffic issues here that have nothing to do with island dairy treat.

So much to love about Island Dairy Treat! Tried the black raspberry soft serve in a cone and 2 scoops of the hard scoop — butter cream and black raspberry. Everything tasted yummy and love the rich creamy texture.

The owners of the small family-run business are super friendly and you definitely feel the love and pride they put into everything they make!
