First time at this place 10/11/25 for dinner. The Catfish and Cajun fries was absolutely delicious. Let me be clear they use real CATFISH and not that Basa,Swai a lot of places use and call it catfish. The fish was seasoned perfectly and it was fresh and hot and good portions. The fries was good also. I has a side order of mac n cheese and that’s what stopped me from giving a 5 star rating. The mac n cheese seemed like a shells n cheese box prep and was not cheesy or flavorful at all so that was a huge disappointment. Once they get a solid cheesy recipe for it it’s on and poppin. The brown sugar lemonade and tea made some great Arnold Palmers. The staff was very friendly and made us feel like family for sure. I will definitely be back to support this place. This place is in the same location as the old Weinershnitzel. Soooo if you want some good fresh fried catfish please come here!!

I really wanted to love Southern Comfort Kitchen, but this location has been hit-or-miss for me.

On my most recent visit, the fries were overcooked and my drink had a slight onion taste (not sure if it was cross-contamination or just the cup/lid, but it was noticeable). I called and spoke with the manager, Jeremy. He apologized and mentioned they’ve been dealing with staffing issues, which I understand, I just wish there was even a small effort to make it right.

This wasn’t a one-time thing either. On my previous visit I ordered the shrimp and grits, and the grits were watery.

Overall, I can’t keep rolling the dice only to be let down. I’ve had enough inconsistent experiences that I won’t be returning.

The food and establishment is amazing . Everyone working is very welcoming, Bret and Jay are usually there working and making sure everyone is happy and well fed.
Yall make sure to stop by and try their food you def won’t be disappointed .
This is what alameda needed an actual good restaurant.
The Ambience is amazing, especially with the outdoor seating, the vibe is great, you walk in and instantly get greeted and they’ve got great music playing.

The chicken sandwich well seasoned and juicy and they give you 2 huge pieces of chicken.

The fried shrimp crispy, amazing, perfectly battered not over battered well seasoned.

Crab fries , best crab fries they actually use real crab.

I didn’t post the picture of the catfish cause I ate it to fast, but def one of the best cat fishes, super crispy well seasoned not over battered.

And YOU MUST GET THE CARROT CAKE BEST CARROT CAKE HANDS DOWN.

I gotta say I was impressed. The food was great. The catfish was so yummy, the fries and hush puppies were were wonderful. Their brussel sprouts are so addicting. All in all I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoys great food. I can’t wait to try the rest of their food on the menu.

I am so excited to have a southern food restaurant on the West End. My wife and I got the southern fried chicken sandwiches. They were so good. Good bread, juicy meat and excellent buns. We also got fried Brussels sprouts which were amazing. This was a very soft opening so there was a limited menu. I am looking forward to coming here again!

I ordered the 50/50 with the chicken strips and shrimps with a side order of mac & cheese. The food was trash I am so sorry. I should of follow the other reviews. The food need more seasoning. The fries did not taste like it had any Cajun seasoning on it. Let not talk about the Mac & cheese. How can anyone go wrong with mac & cheese. It was so blend. No seasoning. I did asked if they had any salt and pepper packets, but the guy told me no because their food already cook in alot of seasoning. This please is a no for me.

For a 1st time visitor the only question I have is “Is there anything on the menu that isn’t good?!” The food is exactly like what you see in the photos. I ordered the Who Dat Shrimp with Grits as a side and an extra piece of Catfish. Also ordered the Brussels. Man when I tell you EVERYTHING was delicious, I mean EVERYTHING! That Who Dat sauce was amazing and the shrimp mixed with the creamy cheese Grits couldn’t have been better. Unlike most people I love some Brussels sprouts and these were charred perfectly and the maple syrup and sea salt just bring all the flavor out! Lastly, I finished it off with some bread pudding; If you tell me that you’ve ever had a better bread pudding than this I’ll know you’re lying. Make sure you get the brown sugar lemonade, you won’t regret it.

I ordered take out but when I came in to grab my meal the manager Mark had such energy in his service that it prompted me to sit down and eat in. He checked on me several times during my visit and made sure I had everything I needed and was taken care of. The place has a nice, warm feel to it so eating my food there was enjoyable. If you want some Authentic “New OR-lins” food I highly recommend checking this place out you will not be disappointed.

Ewwww chile, I don’t know what south or comfort they thought they had to even open this establishment.
Name your restaurant something else.
Please don’t insult the south & our comfort culture.
My two adult sons called in but they couldn’t take the order over the phone, so they pull up to see if it’s hitting.

They had a soft opening today. A small menu was available to order from, but their full menu was also on display to peruse.
Hubs and I ordered the Brussels sprouts, Hush puppies, Catfish & fries and Chicken strips & fries.
The Brussels sprouts had a nice char without any bitterness and the hush puppies had a crispy shell with flecks of jalapeño? in the cornmeal.
The Catfish and Cajun fries were also delicious and well seasoned, as were the Chicken strips. We were given different dipping sauces to choose from: Garlic Aioli, Remoulade, ranch dressing and small packets of Louisiana hot sauce.
We will be back to try more of their full menu when it becomes available, especially the Carrot cake.
