Enjoyed the all you can eat Catfish and Shrimp. One plate Whole Catfish, another plate Catfish Filets. Plus the typical side dishes. (Loved the hush puppies.) Great view of Lake Bob Sandlin looking West. (Near Pittsburgh, Texas.) Price a little high for what we would eat for dinner. Overall, enjoyed the drive and experience.

The food was amazing and the restaurant was so clean. Possibly the cleanest restaurant I have eaten at. The fish and shrimp were delicious. I don’t usually eat beans, but the beans were amazing! Hush puppies were spot on! And the fresh cut fries were perfect! I live in Paris, so about an hour away, and I’ve never heard of this place and it’s safe to say, I have totally been missing out. Can’t wait to bring the whole family here next weekend so they can experience this awesome place too!

We had AYCE Catfish Strips & Filets and Shrimp for me. The relish serving with beans was interesting.
The fish & shrimp were very good.
The only negative was the fries which were “soggy” but not missed.
I’m not big on fried foods but this was done well.

Our Table was facing the Windows with the View of The Lake called “Lake Bob Sandlin”.
(Also You Do have the option to ask for a) Table with the view or a table without the view.

Wonderful food and service! The catfish filets and the shrimp were hot and fresh as were the hush puppies (two kinds) and beans that were on the table with chow-chow, fresh coleslaw, sliced onion, and enough butter, ketchup, and tartar sauce for everyone as we were seated. The fish and shrimp was brought to our table regularly and hot from the kitchen. Wonderful experience all the way around. We had a party of 9. They do charge gratuity for a party that large. Would definitely recommend. The house dogs will greet you like your own when you’re walking up (if your dogs love you and are happy to see you). You can tell they are well loved. Beautiful drive out, also. Around 30 minutes from Gilmer or Mount Pleasant.

Some say the food is overpriced. I find this inaccurate at best. They have food that is of higher quality, the number of free items on the table is pretty good as well. Hush puppies, pickled green tomatoes, coleslaw, beans all are brought to the table for you to enjoy.
The price is fair.

Quite the find for a hardy lunch. My friends and I stopped here after hiking Lake Bob Sandlin State Park. This restaurant provided big portion sizes. We also loved the all-you-can-eat sides. The tomatoe relish was my favorite. It gave home cooked vibes, and I mean that in a good way. The staff was also good too. Considering it’s by the lake, I was expecting a better view, but the available view was nothing to complain about.

My family and I really enjoyed dinner! The view of the lake is lovely. The waitress was very friendly and helpful! I’m not big on beans and tomatoes but really enjoyed the pinto beans and pickled tomatoes. All of our meals came out quickly, hot and tasty!

I thought the fried shrimp was good but how can you go wrong with it. I kept hearing about this place from the radio. my family came in from Dallas to go fishing at lake Cypress and we all decided to try this place
we didn’t know the prices would be like outback steakhouse so expensive. ok. decided to still try it.
my husband and I spent almost $65 on the “all you can eat” plates yet they won’t give you any more food unless you eat everything on your plate then when you ask for your leftovers to go they take your plate back to kitchen and put it in a to go plate back there for some reason instead of letting us put our own food in the containers. Almost $230 for 5 people to eat mediocre food I’m never going again unfortunately I expected more….
the place at 1pm was completely empty as well which was different
Waitress barely came by and when she did she was so quick to leave we had to flag her back down immediately for something.
only got 1 plate cuz I couldn’t finish catfish even tho it’s all you can eat plate and I didn’t like the catfish

Friendly and welcoming. Excellent fried fish, shrimp, qual, fried clams, oysters, scallops, chicken fried steak and other specials. Senior night on Thursdays with all you can eat special. Great views and plenty of seating and parking.
