We were really excited to try Tavernetta and arrived very hungry, ready for a great experience. We ordered the carpaccio di manzo, focaccia, two risottos, and two short rib pastas.

I don’t usually like to leave negative reviews, but when you dine at a restaurant of this level—especially in a Four Seasons—you naturally have high expectations.

Out of everything we ordered, the carpaccio was the highlight. It was good—but not particularly memorable. The risotto, unfortunately, was the most disappointing. The texture was very loose, almost like a cheese soup, and both people who ate them ended up with stomach discomfort afterward. The short rib pasta was decent, enjoyable but not outstanding. As for the focaccia, it wasn’t our favorite, but we chose not to return it because the staff was genuinely kind and attentive, and we didn’t want to make a scene.

I do want to emphasize that the service was excellent. Everyone was warm, professional, and very welcoming throughout the meal. Our disappointment was really with the food itself rather than the hospitality. Overall, we left feeling that the dishes didn’t quite meet the level we were expecting, given the restaurant’s reputation and setting.

We had a lovely Christmas week dinner with our family. We had burrata with focaccia and carpaccio as appetizers, they were delicious. From the mains, we tried halibut which was delicious but some might find the portion small, for me it was perfect. My kids had ragu pasta and seafood linguini, both were wonderful and comforting. From desserts we liked the tiramisu. Ambience was elegant and beautiful, we sat close to the fireplace which made it cozier.

Really nice experience. Let me start by the service which was amazing (the two girls that look like twins)! The food was very delicate, fresh and delicious. We tried the Gnocchi and the risotto and the both were great choices! It’s worth visiting ..

Tavernetta Vail – A Sister Restaurant That Delivers

As longtime fans of Frasca in Boulder and its sister location in Denver, we arrived at Tavernetta Vail with high expectations—and it absolutely delivered. Located within the Four Seasons, the restaurant is beautifully designed, blending warmth and sophistication in a way that feels both inviting and refined.

We began with the burrata, served with a vibrant homemade pesto. It was soft, creamy, and perfectly balanced—easily one of the best starters we’ve had in a while. We also shared the insalata mista, a simple but delicious salad. We asked for the buttermilk dressing to come on the side, but honestly, it didn’t need it. The greens were fresh, well-dressed, and generously portioned for two to three people.

For mains, we shared the gluten-free spaghetti (available by request) with uni, dungeness crab, and ossetra caviar- bold, luxurious combination that was flawlessly executed. We paired that with the Alaskan halibut, which was perfectly cooked and beautifully plated.

To end the meal, we enjoyed a couple of glasses of moscato alongside their panna cotta—a delicate and satisfying finish.

Service was attentive and friendly throughout, and the overall experience was seamless from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back.

We celebrated my daughter’s and soon to be son-in-law’s recent engagement on top of the mountain. Couldn’t ask for a better setting! The restaurant was beautiful and our seating was perfect (Party of 8) we had plenty of room to stretch out. Can’t say enough about our waiter, Rau’l! He took us on an epicurean journey! He even had a surprise for my daughter for dessert! Our sommelier, John, was so very helpful. He brilliantly paired the perfect wines for the entrees we had selected. Our meal was delicious and the service was impeccable! Couldn’t ask for a better evening. Thanks to the entire staff!

I feel like this restaurant took advantage of me. This dinner out was one big joke. First off, the food took forever to come out. Then after finally getting my 7oz Ribeye for $87, it was obvious it sat out for a while with no sense of urgency to bring it to us. The portion sizes for the price should be criminal. I felt ripped off, and it didn’t even taste that good. The menu reads that butternut squash comes with the Ribeye, look at my picture. There is a single teaspoon of butternut squash. Absolutely unbelievably horrible experience, don’t waste your time or money.

Tavernetta Vail delivered an amazing dining experience. Service was friendly, attentive, and made the night feel special.

I started with the Cassini cocktail (rum, passionfruit, lemon), bright and refreshing. We shared:
Focaccia
Burrata

For mains, we tried:
Cavatelli Nero
Rigatoni
Risotto
Ippoglosso in Saor (halibut)

Finished with ☕ espresso and Torta di Carote. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. Great food, great service, definitely a must-visit in Vail.

Had brunch here with my wife and really enjoyed the food. Berry smoothie was delicious and my egg white frittata has a nice balance of salad vegetable and some prosciutto. Service was quick and staff were super responsive. Would definitely recommend for a quick bite for those before they start out hiking.

Worth every penny! We made a reservation but got there early to get cocktails from their cute spritz window and drank them outside by the fire overlooking the resort. Then our meal and the service were top tier. Our waiter Paul was exceptional and we met the manager Michael who was just lovely. We got the focaccia starter with olive oil and it was divine. Followed by the best burrata I’ve ever had. We got the truffle gnocchi for our mains and it was insanely good – huge prices of fresh truffles they shaved right onto our plate at the table. And finally the tiramisu dessert is to die for. Plus the red wines we had were top tier!! Pricey but the quality and experience matches it

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at FSV and made a reservation at Tavernetta to stay in the hotel.

We were not disappointed as we were treated over the top with excellent service and fantastic Italian food from the Alpine region. Different from Tavernetta Denver, this location has a unique vibe, elegant and cozy with stunning mountain views.

I want to give special thanks to Justin and Mike for their warm hospitality crafting a very special experience for our celebration, and to Casey who paid special attention to all the details.

Excellent experience! ❤️
