Not bad for food court foods. Definitely not very good but is just ok. Don’t feel very welcome or appreciate for doing business. Good portion. My Tonkatsu pieces are very large. The pork is pretty dry. Fried oysters were cooked perfectly tho. Would come back again if running out of choices.

Pleased with the quick turnaround of the orders. Una dish was delicious. Ika is the right consistency. I don’t know how I ended up with katsu chicken instead of karaage but was famished so I didn’t have the energy to argue (would have given it 5 ⭐️).

Went it based on the reviews. The place is not meeting even low expectations. Ordering was quick and staff were friendly. We got our buzzer and started waiting for a table to free up. Once people left, we moved to the table and waited for staff to clean it up. After a few minutes I pulled out napkins and cleaned it because no one seemed to care to come out and do it. After the buzzer went off, we came to pick up our order and they told us that tempura was in the works and will take longer. Ok, not a problem, we went back to our table and started eating. After 10 minutes, a guy came over and started asking if we ordered tempura. We said we did and he pointed to the front, directing us to pick it up there. Why not be nice and bring it over since it was delayed? After getting the tempura, we wished he didn’t: the tempura batter was so horrible and the amount of cheap oil was way too much, it wasn’t edible.
We also ordered chicken katsu which was soggy and we threw most of it away. I don’t recommend this restaurant, they don’t appear to use adequate ingredients and don’t cook well.

We have been coming in the area when the family does not know what to eat when we are out. Kokolo is in a food court area at the Pacific Pearl in Pleasanton.
We love the food at KoKoLo, I usually order the Beef Sukiyaki or the noodles. Very tasty and good quality. My wife and kids order the other food which they also loved. There are a lot of Asian food options at the Pacific Pearl but, I certainly recommend to try it at least once if you are in the area.
I give it a Four-Star rating as compared to its similar category of Food-Court food.

The rice portion is big, the tastes are okay, the tempura is bit oily when we get, and some sliced cabbage are big.

Came here 5 days ago. Staff is nice and ambience, pleasant. Food preparation is very impressive! Both the “small plates” and “signature katsu don” are good.
The only thing that messed up my food was the Kibinago Karaage (silver stripe round herring). My tongue started to itch and burn, in a minute after chewing and swallowing it. I thought i was just feeling something else. So I went to finish my “Katsu Don” with no issues but when I tried the Kibinago for the 2nd time, the effect was the same.
I don’t know if this is a new allergy for me or there is an ingredient in Kibinago that made my tongue itch. I will try the Kibinago in some other place and see if I have the same reaction to it.
Will still recommend

Donburi places have definitely been rare in the Tri-Valley area, and the donburi they serve is good. The pricing is not the same as you would expect if you’ve been to Japan before, but the quality of the food makes up for it. I would definitely recommend this place if you’ve never had donburi before.

Good size portion on the katsu and rice bowl. Unfortunately with the steamed eggs, it pretty much turns the crispy batter to mush. Sort of eliminates all the good part of katsu.
I’d try something else.
The cafeteria is a nice place to eat!
