Food is great. I just wish it was more consistent. 1 out of 5 times something is a little off, over saturated, or they run out of something. But generally, we love going there or getting take out.

Pretty good sushi for small town Indiana! They offered Ramune, Japanese carbonated soda that comes with a marble, classic roles plus their own spin on a table side flambé sushi- three offered and I chose the Secret roll. It had a grilled taste, and was pretty good. I could have done without the sauce, which tasted somewhat like BBQ sauce-which I could do without on sushi. We also ordered the 317 (delish), Crown Royal (a fav), and the Cuckoo (good) rolls. My daughter tried the orange chicken. It was cooked well and had a nice flavor.

Overall, worth a return visit. For this girl who used to live in So Flo by the ocean, however, I was disappointed in the boat option. For 3 people, it was $90 and only comes with California and Shrimp rolls, Nigeri and Sashimi. Boats I have had other places are around $30 cheaper and come with chefs specialty rolls, as well as nigeri and sashimi. Better to buy rolls individually here instead of the boat.

Ordered take out tonight, the kiss of dragon roll is amazing, but the passion of fire I’m pretty sure is canned tuna??! Only turn off for me

Parking is limited along the street in front of Bonsai. There is a parking lot to the South that is available. Once inside, the space is open and welcoming. I usually get water to drink but it does not taste good here. The crab rangoon roll is excellent. The entree’s are average in taste. Service was sufficient.

One of the best sushi places we’ve tried! Tim was so kind and Bonsai Fortville is a beautiful restaurant! Pina Colada was on point and they have a variety of sushi and so many entrees to choose from. They even have an outdoor seating in the back and front. I was able to bring my dog and they gave him a treat and a bowl of water. Our server was great! 5 star customer service. Would definitely recommend!

A delectable Asian eatery where the staff is as bubbly as their bubble tea. The waitress was very attentive in making sure we had everything we needed for our dining experience. I had the passion of fire. Tuna fried sushi as what was advertised everything was promised. A wonderful taste of heat inside of a roll with some crunch to it. I would highly recommend checking out this restaurant if you’re in the mood for some Asian cuisine .

We’ve been here before and really enjoyed it, so we were excited to come back—but unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. We spent around $60 on meals (no sushi this time), and everything just seemed off. The food tasted soggy and felt like it had been reheated, which was really unexpected given our past experiences. Hoping this was just an off day, but it definitely wasn’t worth what we paid this time.

First time eating the sushi here and it was awesome. We liked every single one we bought. The atmosphere is cool too with it being an old building. The service was fast and very nice. Will be eating here again!

We ordered takeout for dinner. We really enjoyed our sushi rolls, the Bang Bang roll and a California roll. We will definitely be ordering again for sushi. But please, if you read this review, do not get their fried rice. It’s so bad. I guarantee it’s 90 second microwave in a bag rice — not even something like Uncle Ben’s — but from the dollar store. The general tso and sesame chicken had great flavor but were kind of soggy and probably made from frozen if I had to guess. Definitely more mediocre, but we were happy it was white meat. Crab rangoons were good as well as the egg roll and gyoza. Again, we will just stick to sushi and apps next time!
