Finally found an authentic Greek spot that’s not afraid of flavor nor overpriced. The proteins in the Athenian combination platter are juicy and possibly charcoal grilled, with no tendrils or gritty bites, which is hard to find these days. The entree alone is a little simple, I spruced mine up with sautéed bell peppers and onions to go with a side of fluffy, fresh yellow rice. Ordering two 2oz tzatziki sauces tied it all together. Their pita bread is served in wrap formation, fresh to each order. Less than $20 after tax for the meal as is, or ~$27 for all the extras mentioned including another piece of bread. The salad is included, easily three meals out of this one order. 10/10 restaurant. Cheers.

My husband has tried Moussaka at every Greek restaurant we’ve been to, always looking for the taste of the moussaka served to him by a little old woman at the two table cafe on the island of Corfu in 1978. He finally found that perfect taste at Acropolis Restaurant. Honestly I never liked moussaka until I tried his at Acropolis. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and the bechamel was the crowning glory on the dish with delicious nutmeg flavor.

I ordered the Zorba Combination Platter – grilled chicken and filet mignon so tender I could cut them with the side of my fork, served in flavorful rice pilaf with mushrooms and onions.

Completing both our entrees were Greek salads and homemade pita bread. We left the restaurant with to-go containers brimming with leftovers. And an order of baklava to enjoy during our trip home.

Although we live 400 miles away, I know we will be back soon. Oh that taste!!

Good food and great service. Love the setting with all the greek surroundings. I had the greek salad and falafel. I should have sent the falafel back since it was slightly over fried. I realized on the third one when I cut it and it exploded into pieces. Other than that I will be back when in the area. I went between dentist appointments. Wished it was closer to my side of town. Big TV’s ,which had the selection of the new Pope on at the time

The Acropolis restaurant never disappoints. Our group of five ladies was celebrating a birthday. They put us in a secluded side room just for us. Portion sizes were large and most people left with take home boxes. My plate had delicious hummus, and well seasoned chicken along with a small salad. The pita bread was very good. We had a great time here and service was excellent. Highly recommend.

If you’re looking for Mediterranean food in Greenville this is the place to go. I especially love the Mediterranean platter. It has chicken and gyro with a huge amount of hummus, pita katamala olives, tomatoes, lettuce, and pepperoncinis. Easily enough for two meals. It’s easy to eat here no matter what your food restrictions are because of their menu. We just visited recently and I can’t wait to go again.

This was a miserable day with a serious snowstorm. We are glad they were open because we were staying in town pre flight. However, don’t order the moussaka! It’s absolutely awful. I would say it’s a deconstructed eggplant parmesan…. but no parmesan…lol.
Also, moussaka has a bechamel sauce, not a bowl full of pizza sauce!

I don’t leave many reviews but this place deserves one. Ordered the combo plate and the amount of food and quality is amazing. Will be back!

Ordered the lasagna entree with meatballs and it was probably the best restaurant lasagna I’ve ever eaten. It was piping hot and delicious.
Side note: the waitress said it would just be a cheese lasagna if I didn’t add an offering of mushrooms or Italian sausage or meatballs but it actually did have ground beef in it.

Our server was great, the restaurant looks nice, but the food was subpar. Sweet tea was good, the pita bread was good, but the meat in the combination platter tasted like it was weeks old. The filet mignon was like chewing on an actual tire and the chicken was nothing but fat. The smaller pieces of meat were somewhat decent but my plate was full of huge chunks of meat that were absolutely inedible. I ate the rice of the platter but left all the meat and was told that they could not offer any kind of discount. They gave a side of rice to make up for it. Manager never even came out to talk to us about it, just immediately denied it through the server. Keep in mind, we were one of 3 tables in the entire restaurant. And now we know why.

First, I have to start by saying I’m not a super fan of Greek food. This was our first time at this Greek restaurant and I wanted to leave and go somewhere else… but we stayed and I was surprisingly pleased.

I ordered the Athenian combo platter with marinated chicken, steak, over home-made hummus and garnished with tomatoes, olives, and pickled banana peppers. This was served with a single pita cut in quarters… Which were I to have been able to eat the whole platter would not have been enough to finish the plate of hummus and meat.
This all came with a Greek side salad, and the salad dressing was amazing.

My husband ordered the combination platter which had a little bit of everything on it… A pita, the marinated chicken, the steak, and the Gyro meat with a salad and french fries. He said salad was nice and light as expected. The cheese was good. He didn’t care for the Taziki sauce alone but it was good with the pita and meats. The salad would have been better on the side but the quantity and quality was unusual for this day and age.

We both took home food which is also unusual.

Our server was terrific, funny, and made great suggestions that didn’t disappoint.
It seemed as though all the wait staff worked together to make sure our experience was great!

All in all I would definitely come back!
