We came here for an anniversary and it was beyond special. The staff were so kind, even writing a personalized card and sparklers with our dessert. The food was well done and very well paced as far as the courses went. Cocktail pairing was a perfect addition I would 100% love to go again.

Such a special experience last night at Mainlander. One of the best meals I’ve ever had in St. Louis! Their new location in CWE is amazing- every detail thoughtfully crafted from the wall paper to the lamps/lighting to the artwork. The food was delicious and sourced with such care and purpose. The entire staff was kind, informative and joyful. They all just seemed really happy to be there and made the night really special. Can’t wait to go back!

I knew the first time we visited Mainlander THIS was a very special place. The care and attention to detail that this wonderful team provides is superlative in every way. I prayed for them to succeed and grow and they have. The new, much larger space has been lovingly curated right down to the music and is as perfect as the staff and food. Mainlander is a feast for the eyes, ears, and palate. It is rare to find a place that understands the details required for a really great dining experience as well as this. You’re pampered the minute you walk in the door. As for the food – this is local and seasonal dining at its best. You can taste the thought and care that went into each dish. Worth every single penny and I always leave saying “I can’t wait to come back”.

The best meals I’ve had in my life I usually describe as “an experience.” I certainly had an experience at Mainlander.

This is St. Louis’s premier restaurant. The service is warm and everybody who delivered a dish or a drink to our table was excited about it. You won’t find this kind of enthusiasm from a service team anywhere else.

The food here is best described as “fusion” but the cool part is they’re fusing so many different things. Last night we had a menu inspired by Chinese, German and Midwestern cuisines—the resulting flavors were as comforting as they were creative. Even the most innovative dishes here are grounded and familiar.

It’s also worth noting that they have a great beverage program. The cocktails are sensational. Really some of the best around. They have a rotating Mai Tai that changes every month and it’s always a highlight.

Mainlander is simply the best.

Mainlander STL is a supper club that has left a consistently great impression on me. I have been twice, once at their original location and most recently at the new space, where we also had cocktails at the bar before dinner.

The concept is a rotating monthly menu focused on local ingredients, and they are clearly proud of their sourcing. It is a prix fixe menu with options for dietary accommodations, served family style, which adds to the atmosphere and makes the meal feel communal.

Both visits were excellent. The food was delicious, the service was warm and professional, and the drink pairings were strong, both cocktail and wine. The bar deserves special mention. The cocktails were outstanding, and the bartender had a great attitude and made everyone feel welcome.

I cannot recommend this place enough. It is a must.

Absolutely incredible experience. It’s a cozy spot in Central West End and the vibe and smell in the room is amazing. We loved every bite. We are not drinkers, but we got the drink pairing menu anyway and loved it. We’re excited to come back and try another menu!

What an amazing meal! Every bite was just perfect. The service was incredible, and every member of the team was attentive and considerate. The chef puts so much thought and care into the plates, down to where the ingredients are sourced, and it really shines through each and every menu item. The cocktails were also stunning! It is definitely worth getting the cocktail pairing – four carefully crafted cocktails for just over $30 is a steal anywhere. This is by far ranked among the best restaurants in St. Louis, and I feel bad for other cities who don’t have this charm tucked in one of their neighborhoods.

Absolutely amazing meal. Hands down one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to in St. Louis.

We had the pleasure of eating at Mainlander several months ago and still talk about how great a meal it was.

The menu changes monthly and is extremely fresh, creative, and well thought out / locally sourced.

The cocktail pairing was an amazing touch to all the dishes.

Everything we ate was absolutely delicious – run, don’t walk, to mainlander for your next date night / double date / special occasion dinner. You won’t regret it!

We had an incredible experience at Mainlander. The service was outstanding (thank you Evan and Gordon!), the food was exceptional, and the overall concept with wine pairings was truly impressive. Highly recommend everyone try it at least once.

We visited for the November menu, which featured mala eggplant parm, walleye dumplings, and a salad with shrimp toast — all 10/10 dishes. The pork steak, baked potatoes, and vegetables were equally excellent. Dessert was unique with a cilantro sorbet; I surprisingly enjoyed it, though not everyone in our group did.

The only drawback is the price. It’s quite expensive, and the cost is paid at booking the reservation. It was surprising to pay $600 immediately for a supper club and wine pairing reservation for 4. While it’s definitely worth experiencing, it does come at a price.

What to say about a place that hit the target on all fronts?
Last Christmas my mother gave us a giftcard to Mainlander which unfortunately due to their move caused us to wait (in eager anticipation, I might add) almost an entire year before our visit.
Not only was it entirely worth the wait, but the meal had us laughing in delight with each bite. The staff treated us (and I’d imagine every table) as if we were the only one’s in the building. The food and drink pairings were exceptional… the best either of us have ever had out. The simple decor was done so tastefully, we loved the bathroom (I won’t spoil it… but be sure to visit). Simply put… Mainlander left us full (portion sizes are wondeful) not just with food but with joy and warmth. 10/10 recommend this place and will be back every chance I have an occasion to go!
