Bagel Street Cafe is a local legend.
About: From their website, “Bagel Street Café was established in the Bay Area as a family business in 1990s. The first Bagel Street Café opened in 1996 in Alamo, California. Along with the Alamo location eventually came 21 other retail locations and a Production Plant/Warehouse in Fremont that have made their place around the Bay Area.”
Description: This place is simple, delicious, and friendly. It’s been around for a while because they do things the right way!
The staff is very friendly, inviting, and accommodating.
Menu: I usually go for the salmon lox bagel, and get it toasted. There are many options from breakfast to lunch. Egg, turkey and, ham sandwiches are great.
Seating: Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Enjoy!!

Like many others have commented already, the staff here is very unfriendly. While my order was made fast, for the price I paid, I walked away less than satisfied with the quality or quantity of lox on my sandwich. The cashier also prompted two customers to cut in front of me without even acknowledging I was there first. A customer tried cutting in front of me also and when I stated I was in line, he was rude as well. Just visiting from out of town and definitely won’t be returning here. If you’re local, trust the other reviews and go to the nearby locations instead.

This is your go to bagel and sandwich place. The owner is wonderful and so nice and personable. The bagels and sandwiches are always so fresh and tasty. The staff is always so friendly and have smiles on their faces. The prices are very reasonable too.

The bagel was great but the service here is lacking. Yesterday, the woman that helped me looked like she was really bummed out to be taking my order. She turned her back to start making my bagel before I even finished ordering so it was not really a surprise that she didn’t get my order correct. I prefer the other locations in Danville and San Ramon because their service is better.

First off the lady behind the counter was very unprofessional. Respond with the word yeah instead of yes. Second of all how do you run out of bagels? This is a bagel restaurant and it’s 12 o’clock and you’re out of bagels third of all why are the front doors full of handprints like they’ve never been cleaned. Fourth of all why do you have to have the garbage can right near the exit near the table Where it looks bad and smells bad. It’s obvious the worker is very unhappy here no smile no please no thank you. Get another job if you don’t like it.

Depending on who makes the bagels, they’re decently okay, slightly overpriced. I’m from New York, so the cream cheese shmear here is kind of disrespectful; thin swipes of cream cheese and over cooked bacon. Besides the less obvious downsides, the atmosphere was clean, friendly, and welcoming with nice local art. Plus, the bagels are fresh, made daily, so that’s a huge win. If they offer “extra” cream cheese for little to no upcharge, this would be a 5-star location.

While New Yorkers would surely turn their noses up at these bagels we find they are consistently fresh and good. They tend to run out so get their before 10 for the best selection. Staff is not always the friendliest but they work quickly and get you what you you want.

This place is fair size, always seems to some seats available, some outside if weather is good. While there’s not a ton of behind the counter help, and you’ll likely ha very a 5-10 minute wait, this location is delicately balanced between being too efficient and thereby possibly attracting more people. Instead, it has just enough of a wait to scare off most folks, so the line is only 5-20 minutes long at most. Tasty eats, bagels and baked goods, fresh fruit and more. Definitely recommend you go here if you’d like something small and tasty for breakfast.

I eat at this cafe a lot. The BLT’s are amazing. The service is always fast and friendly. The prices are affordable. The bagels are made on site and keep me coming back for more.
