We were taking a detour to get around traffic on a trip to FL from TN and stumbled on this little gem. Excellent pulled pork BBQ and their mustard BBQ sauce was sweet with a little heat. We loved that it was a buffet and they had plenty of other options, fried chicken, chicken livers, chicken wings, butter beans, mac-n-cheese and don’t pass up trying the banana pudding for dessert!

The slaw and BBQ is what I go for. The sides are all good as well. Been going here for a long time. I have won a few cooking awards myself. Don’t let the lack of atmosphere fool you. This food is made with love.

Only mid way on my decision. They were out of chicken and ribs. The pulled pork was very good, was tender and flavorful. The green beans were seasoned to perfection. The hash and rice was also done correctly. I would love to taste their ribs and chicken but if all they have is the pork it would still be worth the stop.

The moment I walked through the door, I had made a mistake. I’m not afraid of hole-in-the-wall restaurants, but this grungy dive is really just way too run down. The lady at the register rolled her eyes at me and scowled, for she knew I wasn’t a regular local. Strike 2! I really should have walked out at that point. I persisted, though, because maybe the food was worth it? Wrong. The to-go plate was LOADED with food, true…but I threw over half of it away. The sweet-mustard pulled pork was actually good, but the “hash” and barbecue chicken were inedible, so I threw 75% of it away. You go see for yourself, of course. But, if you walk in and feel uneasy and weird by anything at all that you see, please walk out. I sure wish I had.
