It was super tasty and their menu is so huge it’s going to take me forever going back to try things. Also met the owner Joe really nice guy as well. If you haven’t been here yet you need to go! More seating is needed but Im sure theyll get to it.
When she handed me the screen to pay, I didn’t think I needed to analyze every word because we had just discussed the crispy sandwiches several times. I trusted the order was correct.
It wasn’t.
I ended up with two soggy chicken Philly sandwiches I don’t even eat, with mushrooms and ingredients I never asked for. Only one sandwich, my son’s , was made correctly. Why would only one be made crispy when I asked for three?
When I pointed out the mistake, the cashier brought over the manager, and basically told me in front of the manager, “Well, I gave you the screen to check.” That was incredibly frustrating, because if I’m clearly communicating my order multiple times, I shouldn’t have to double-verify something we already repeated over and over.
Now my daughter and I both have food we can’t eat, and I’m out over $80 with only one correct sandwich with the remaining two i could have made at home better. I’m extremely disappointed and won’t be returning.
Edit: I also want to mention another issue with our order. We ordered shrimp, and half of the order ended up being catfish …something we never asked for. So not only were two of our sandwiches wrong, but even the side we ordered wasn’t correct. It just added to the disappointment and made the whole experience feel careless.
My family has always loved Baba’s. We’ve driven 30 minutes to other locations and spent around $100 each time because it’s one of our favorite places. We were genuinely excited for this location to open, hoping it would become our new go-to spot.
But after all these mistakes in one visit, and the way the situation was handled, we won’t be returning to this location. It’s truly upsetting after being loyal customers for so long.
THANK YOU BABA’s, you’ve changed my mind about Mid-West small-chain restaurants.
5 trips, only had to wait over 10 minutes ONCE, despite them being packed.
Food was a hit every single time (just like their southside chicago locations)
Prices are about the same as Tastee bitee down the street.
Combo prices are great.
KEY THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: order mild sauce on the side if you get fries or chicken. (Its a staple signature sauce from the Chicago southside that you NEED to try if uve never had it before).
If they ask you for lemon pepper SAY YES. You can skip the lemon pepper but DO NOT skip the mild sauce.
THEIR LEMONADE IS VERY SWEET. It is made that way by design, and can be overpowering if your not used to natural fruits AND added sugar.
The ONLY con i can give the place is that they dont have their cafeteria music system setup, or their tv’s. So i would imagine dining in probably wouldnt be as fun. But im sure this is subject to change. (Edit: they added the music right after making this review less than 24 hours later so BOOM. Perfect 10/10 for me)
The steak was on another level — tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Every bite had that signature Baba’s taste: juicy, well-seasoned, and super satisfying. You can tell they’re using quality ingredients and putting real effort into every order.
The lemonade was exactly what I hoped for: cold, refreshing, and full of fresh flavor. It wasn’t watered down or too sugary — it tasted like real lemons, the way good lemonade should. It paired perfectly with the steak.
What impressed me most was that even with the huge grand opening crowd, the staff stayed upbeat and made sure everyone was taken care of. They were moving fast but still paying attention to the details.
Overall, Baba’s in Plano is already a hit. The food is amazing, the drinks are on point, and once the opening-week rush settles, it’s going to be even better.
I’ll definitely be coming bacK.
My husband ordered the pizza puff combo, big mistake.
The pizza puffs were undercooked so all you taste is a mouthful of greasy dough. It came with 2 but after my husband choked down one he was done.
The kids hot dog I ordered came with onion, tomato & a tiny pickle. I did not order it this way! I tried to remove the onion & tomato & add ketchup but my son wouldn’t eat it.
I had the gyro which tasted fine but came with no toppings. I never specified no toppings so I assumed it would come with the standard onion & tomato. Instead I had to add that at home. I felt like they didn’t put as much meat as I’d expect & get from other places. Overall bad experience. There’s much better places around for a hot dog/burger/gyro. Terrible.
What truly sets Baba’s apart is their signature lemonade—refreshing, icy, and available in a variety of fun flavors—which pairs perfectly with the savory, hearty menu items. The menu itself is impressively diverse, offering everything from burgers and hot dogs to gyros, loaded fries, salads, and more, making it an ideal spot for families, friends, or solo diners. Coupled with friendly staff, quick service, and a casual, welcoming atmosphere, Baba’s in Plano consistently delivers delicious food and a memorable dining experience. It’s no wonder it’s become a local favorite.
