Got a cozy window seating and loved the ambiance thanks to their floral interiors along with holiday ligthing right next to our table. Noise levels on the quiet side and easy to have conversations.
They have a decent kids menu, and the Chicken Fingers ($10) were perfect for our little one. Huevos Rancheros ($19), and Vegetarian Omelette ($19) which was served with home fries and tossed salad was a good portion. Kimbo Coffee ($4.25) was actually pretty good although would’ve loved it to be warmer. Refills were slow to come. Food was inline with our expectations.
Food arrived within 8-10 mins of placing our order, so yeah, really quick! Our initial server/waiter wasn’t that attentive but their crew members were definitely more alert.
Overall, pretty decent experience.
Unfortunately, I think I’ve seen the last of this place. It was always a warm, cozy and reliable place for a solid meal in the neighborhood….but now it feels like something you’d find in midtown – made up of overly priced, mediocre food.
They have a great menu – this time we had “snacks” – cauliflower, calamari and guacamole. Lots of healthy options. They also had some very pretty drinks. Make sure you check out the delightful little drink menu/booklet!
Meter street parking.
And they make a mean Manhattan!!
The restaurant seemed to be understaffed because our the waiter was covering many tables service was slow and we were able to get more water or drinks. Our water carafe was also dirty which was gross
The food was just alright, the pizza ordered was burnt on the corners and the burgers were good. The fries were subpar
The real highlight though was Glenda, the owner. She came by our table, asked the kids their names, and just made us feel like we belonged there. Super warm, zero pretension, you can tell she actually loves what she does.
If you’re anywhere near the Upper West Side, do yourself a favor and go. We’re already planning our next visit! Thanks Glenda!!
Calamari appetizer was excellent, tender and crispy.
Ordered the seafood pasta special, but waiter didn’t hear me correctly and served fish risotto dish instead. It looked excellent so I opted to keep it. It was great.
Dessert, unfortunately didn’t work out. The lava cake looked great, but first bite tasted like burnt dough. Second bite confirmed the entire thing was burnt all through the bottom, enough that others at the table could smell it. Waiter apologized and removed the cost.
Aside from the dessert, everything was great for everyone at the table.
