At Sabatino’s Pizza, we don’t imitate “NY style” — we serve it exactly how it’s made in the Bronx. Hand-tossed dough, sauce straight from New York, and the highest quality ingredients create slices big enough to fold and pies too good to put down. Locals and visitors call us the best pizza in Charleston SC, because this is the real deal: authentic New York City pizza done right in the South. So the next time you’re searching pizza near me downtown, head to our pink building at King & Calhoun and taste why Sabatino’s has become a Charleston favorite.
Casual counter-serve pit stop from a Bronx native selling thin-crust pies & slices, subs & starters.

I ordered a small pizza and waited about 20 minutes — which was totally fine — but unfortunately, the pizza came out burnt on top and raw on the bottom. On top of that, the person making the pizza was on the phone watching YouTube while working, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
As someone who’s worked in the pizza business for many years (and yes, I’m from NYC), I was really hoping for a better experience — especially after seeing all the great reviews. This one just missed the mark for me.

Sabatino’s is a great spot for a quick bite in Charleston. The pizza is cheap and good, and it’s always fresh. There isn’t a lot of seating, but that’s totally fine since it’s clearly meant for grabbing a slice and going. Solid pizza every time and always hits the spot.

I truly love this place. Sabatino’s has been a holy grail for me since I first came to Charleston for college in 2022. They have consistently been my favorite pizza joint, and they still are, but my most recent experience wasn’t the best. I ordered off uber eats and purchased a bundle of garlic knots and a 14inch specialty pie. The service and atmosphere of Sabatinos never disappoints—picking up the order went smoothly. It wasn’t until I got home that I opened up the garlic knots and found little hairs on some of the knots! I honestly didn’t notice at first until my roommate pointed them out. I only snapped a picture of one I noticed, but forgot to take a picture of the rest before I tossed them in the trash. The pizza was perfect and had no traces of what was on the garlic knots. I completely understand everyplace is capable of making mistakes, but I am disappointed I didn’t get to enjoy those garlicky doughs of goodness I paid for.

Good pizza but not great. The white pizza was better than the pep. The workers make you feel like your inconveniencing them. There is only one seating area. Small table. Good enough pizza for Charlston on the go.

Best pizza in Charleston, I would argue best is SC. I am a New Yorker and a pizza snob. This place is the best. Every time I am in Charleston for a conference this is my pilgrimages. Reminds me of growing up and getting slices in High School. Goo times

I grew up in the Bronx and I know pizza. The slices are authentic thin crust with just the right among on char underneath. Highly recommend Sabatino’s.

THE PEOPLE IN HERE ARE SO SWEET. GENUINELY, THE CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES ARE ALL THE SWEETEST PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY FOR A NEW YORK STYLE PIZZERIA ‼️‼️
I got a pepperoni slice, pinwheel, and a garlic knot, and they were so good.
Very large pizza, my hand is even in the photo for reference lmao.

I am not sure what happened, but the pizza, both Sicilian and NY style is not the pizza I have been getting there for the last 4 years. Very bland, little toppings, crust was tiny and flat. Sicilian was the opposite. Crust was hard and dense. Tasted like somebody spilled the italian seasoning in the sauce. Very disappointed. It almost looks like it was a pre-cooked crust that’s someone didn’t let rise correctly. Maybe the new location expansion wasn’t the best idea without enough qualified staff? I usually stop there every time I go downtown. Granted that’s not often. Last time I stopped was probably 3 months ago.

You get a special place in my heart if you are a pizzeria and you get a special place in my heart if you cater to college students. Tick and tick for Sabatinos.
The building is tiny and might have seating for a total of 6 people at a time inside and the same outside. There are 5-6 pies ready for slice orders and a massive menu with loads of customization.
This place has great lunch specials which are advertised everywhere and provide you with a massive meal for around 10 dollars.
The flavor is delicious, and the crust is a true New York thin. It’s phenomenal. I might go as far to say that this is my favorite by the slice pizza in the world.
Loved it!

This pizza is about as mid as it gets. Got a sausage, onion and green pepper pizza and a slice of pepperoni. My advice? Do NOT order a whole pizza. The crust was way underdone for NY style pizza. It was not a $24 14” pizza. The slice of pepperoni was decent. Pretty big for the price, cooked way better and tasted much better. If you’re in the area, definitely go by the slice instead of getting a whole pie. They put a lot more love in to the slices and they’re a way better value.
EDIT: “Won’t fly in our kitchen”? But it literally did. That’s the weakest part. Minus 1 star for the response.
