The Southside is that small neighborhood corner bar you have been looking for! My family came from Hornell and I grew up on stories about The Southside! My mother recently passed and we had a get together for her there. I am a total outsider that got treated like family! Matt is a great guy and does a great job running the place! If you want to see a bar with some real blue collar history go to The Southside! My grandpa would be very proud of the place Matt, thank you!

It took 1 hr and 30 minutes to get our sandwiches tater toots were cold. People around us who were seated at the same time, ate got to gos and left before our food arrived. We were there 2 hrs and 10 mins for a sandwich. Our meal should have been free!

Best small town local bar. No bar stools but its been that way since my mother drank here. I frequent the place…Matt the owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. This Local Tavern should have a 10 star option. You always feel like family no matter how many times you have been in. BTW: there are tables you can sit at.

This is the best place in Hornell for having the drink after dinner. We went there for a late night beer. Service is kind, ambience is very nice, they have an outdoor area where you can smoke, service hours for late night birds.

Ching, Ching, Chingyyyyy!! Matt is one of the most humble and friendly people on the planet. He is conscientious about his customers well being and made it through the pandemic when other places did not. Well done Southside team!! A local gathering place for friends to unwind and relax. You can stand or sit. With dog or without. No judging, just fun!

I was in from out of town, bought a drink and Matt who I believe is the owner gave a free round to all in the bar. I had only been there a few minutes and was treated like a regular. Good experience.
