The food was incredible, and I love the weekend special. There is so much more to Vietnamese cuisine than pho and banh mi, and their menu had some more authentic offerings to really elevate the dining experience. All flavors were amazing, and the food came out fresh and hot.
The only suggestion I have is to smoothen out your service, please. The staff seemed really overwhelmed having to handle a high volume of guests and online orders at once, and I had to wait for over 40 minutes to get my food, while my friend and the table that came after us had gotten theirs before I did. I want to come back and support the business, so I hope it is something Vietfoods can improve.

This place is the real deal! Definitely our new go-to for Vietnamese food in the Treasure Valley. Stopped by on a Friday night (love that they’re open until 10pm on Friday/Saturday) and ordered phin coffee with condensed milk, regular hue spicy noodle soup, and chicken pho (with fried tofu instead of chicken). Both the Bun bo Hue and chicken pho broth were absolutely delicious—so many layers of flavor! The customary vegetable plates were chock-full of beautiful, fresh veggies (no limp bean sprouts here). Prices are slightly higher than other pho joints around, but the soup portions were larger and ingredients seemed to be higher quality. Thanks Vietfood for bringing high-quality authentic Vietnamese food to Boise! We will be back.

We are excited for this new restaurant! Grand opening was well attended. The shrimp egg rolls were delicious. The beef pho was yummy. The barbecue pork with vermicelli was good size and tasty. Staff is friendly but inexperienced and do not know the menu well enough to double check an order before delivering it. The kitchen was overwhelmed. Dishes were incomplete and without side accompaniments. Food was well priced. The remodel was done well. Look forward to trying them again.

I come here when I feel a little homesick. Enjoy it every time I come here! 10/10 would recommend the spicy beef noodle bowl. My favorite and they really captured the essence of it, authentic ingredients as well! The vietnamese style coffee is nice and smooth!

I really enjoyed the soup I had here. The menu had a good variety of options with a lot of ingredients you don’t often find in other restaurants as well as typical chicken items. The atmosphere is very chill. They primarily have stainless steel chopsticks which is also a plus for me!

First visit, classic Vietnamese food. Very fresh ingredients and food cooked to order. Felt I was eating healthy! The pork was so yummy, you could definitely taste the grill/wock flavor!

Been coming here since opening day. Food quality has significantly improved since the last 3-4 times. This was probably the BEST Vietnamese meal my partner and I’ve had in Boise. We got the BBQ pork rice and the BBQ pork vermicelli noodles. So much flavor!! Make sure you mix everything together if you’re getting it. I got the lychee tea with reduced sugar and it’s also very good. The new staff are doing a really good job with the service. They’re very accommodating for any food/drink adjustments you might need.

You know, it’s a blessing and a curse being a business owner whose livelihood depends on anonymous reviews on Google and other forums. Many reviews are fake, bots, paid for, friends, etc. I have zero affiliation with Vietfood.
If it matters my friends were hesitant to invite me to a Vietnamese restaurant in Boise. I lived in Vietnam, I visit often, I eat in Westminster, CA, often, my family has Vietnamese-born members. That out of the way, what about Vietfood. Well….
In my OPINION it is an amazing goal to open a restaurant in this economy in Boise. The food business is a tough gig, everything about it is a labor of love with long hard days dealing with entitled customers, employees who don’t want to work, high prices. I could see how much attention to detail the owner had, coming out a few times to check on customers and staff. I joked about having a little PTSD seeing the stern Vietnamese adult who was going to make me clean up my dish, sweep the floor, fold laundry, spank me for, oh any reason, ground me and then send my friends home barring them from coming over ever again because they forgot to take their shoes off. If you’re Asian you get this joke.
On our visit the customer service was PERFECT! It wasn’t overly busy on a Friday night, but many diners were Asian (always a good sign). I presume many orders are takeout. In my opinion most Asian food does not travel well no matter the container or how long it takes. But of course every business has negative reviews because the delivery driver F’d up the order so take ratings with a grain of salt.
I don’t want to turn this into a fluff piece so if I had to “criticize” Vietfood then I’d say the bathroom was kind of dirty and out of paper towels (how do you open the dirty door knob with no paper towel?) and I did not like the metal chopsticks. I understand the economics of non-breakable easily washed metal chopsticks, but they get slippery at the top and do not grab vegetables and slippery noodles as well as wooden chopsticks. Again, I have no clue about the vendor situation or reason, and this is a nitpick.
We did not order the almost-cliche pho or banh mi. FYI, the bread is fresh from Gaston’s a few miles away. The smaller items such as lemon (or is that a lime, I forget), cilantro, basil, sprouts were all fresh!! Parking is great, the music not too loud.
I think everyone should give Vietfood a visit. If it’s not your favorite then eat elsewhere the next time, but don’t leave a pissy review. If you like Vietfood then tell a friend and be grateful someone took a leap of faith to become a business owner in Boise. But bring your own chopsticks (kidding).

If you want to taste the authentic Vietnamese cuisine .This restaurant is where to go. They have special dishes every week. I got “bun rieu oc” which is crab noodle soup. Its flavor really reminds me of Viet Nam. 10/10 highly recommended !!!
