Reviews
I tried the Original Ramen and the Original Tsukemen. The broth was super thick and rich, and the noodles were nice and chewy. It was definitely different from the lighter, thinner-style ramen I’m used to. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but the flavor was a bit heavy for my taste, so I only ate about half and took the rest home.
The decorations are very cool. It has lots of Japanese movie posters about Musashi, famous Japanese samurai. Store is not big. It offers three kinds of seating choice, 4-pol family table, share old long table, or bar style table facing the wall. Ordering is using self service machine, and self – seating. Water is also self service.
We ordered both ramen and tsukemen. It comes in about 10 mins at dinner time after ordering. Both are pretty decent. My tsukemen is in good portion, thick noodle. The dipping sauce is pork broth based, with both pork and bamboo shot slice inside. Taste is savy and porky. Good for dipping sauce but too salty to drink. After the meal you can ask staff to pour hot water to make it a soup.
The noodle is in good texture, not too soft and also not too hard. It is easily stick together in the plate though.
Glad to see a ramen store in Issaquah. It makes neighborhood dining choices much better. I and sure I will visit again.
I ordered black tsukemen with cold noodles and my partner got original with hot noodles.
We both noticed no real difference between hot and cold, so I’d probably do hot so I don’t have to worry about cooling down the soup/broth.
I prefer the original, the black would be great for a garlic lover.
I used to live in LA near Sawtelle and had tsukemen from Tsujita all the time. I think I still slightly prefer Tsujita, will need to get an original for myself instead of taking bites from my partner. This hits the spot so well that I don’t see myself stopping by Tsujita next time I’m in LA. I’d rather use that meal on something more exclusive.
Oh and the pork piece that came with it is a little too tough for my liking.
Atmosphere & Service:
The Issaquah location is a small, cozy restaurant with a clean and modern aesthetic. The staff are friendly and attentive, and service is smooth even during busy hours. That said, there are a couple of areas where small adjustments could enhance the experience:
Table Arrangement: Many of the tables are two-person tables joined together to form four-person tables, and couples often end up occupying these combined tables. If the restaurant simply separated the joined tables, it would allow more efficient seating and reduce wait times during peak hours.
Ordering System: Orders are placed via a tablet kiosk, which is convenient and modern. However, after ordering, customers receive an order number that the wait staff don’t seem to have visibility into. This leads to staff having to ask around to match orders with customers. A helpful improvement could be to incorporate table numbers into the ordering process—either by having customers enter their table number or using table markers. This would streamline service and reduce confusion, especially during busy times.
Menya Musashi Issaquah is a fantastic addition to the local food scene. Despite being in soft opening, they’re already delivering top-tier ramen with authentic flavors and thoughtful service. With a few small tweaks, I think they’ll become a standout destination for ramen lovers in the area. I’m excited to keep coming back and watching them grow.
This is a rather small location so during peak hours it may be hard to get a table. Also, the seats are very close to the front of the restaurant so during cold days it can be quite chilly in here.
