This restaurant truly does serve good food
the flavors are great, and you can tell care goes into the preparation. However, the prices don’t match the portion sizes, they seem to be getting smaller. It’s becoming hard to justify the cost for what you receive.
Consistency in both portion size and pricing would go a long way in keeping loyal customers. People don’t mind paying for quality, but they also want to feel like they’re getting fair value every time they visit. Maintaining that balance will help ensure customers continue to return rather than feeling priced out.

This isn’t a dine-in restaurant, it’s strictly a carryout spot. I called ahead to place my order, and when I arrived, my food was ready to go. Parking was super easy (right in front), which made pickup convenient. I had my child with me, so the only downside was there’s no restroom available, but service was quick and efficient overall which I loved.
I ordered potato leaves with pounded yam and dry rice. The portion sizes were huge, honestly one of the largest I’ve seen for a carryout. The potato leaf soup was flavorful and had a mix of meats (looked like chicken, smoked turkey neck, beef, and maybe goat). I eat all of those, so I didn’t mind, but next time I’ll probably ask what meats come in the soup just to be sure. The dry rice was recommended by a friend, not my personal favorite.
As a Sierra Leonean, it’s always nice to try dishes from other West African cultures. Based on my order and the pepper sauce I received, I believe this establishment has Liberian influences, which I really enjoyed. I’m looking forward to coming back to try their jollof rice and torborgee next time.
Service was polite but very straightforward & no small talk, just a quick greeting and handoff. The atmosphere is basic and a little outdated, but that’s to be expected for a quick grab-and-go type of place. If you want authentic food without the wait or fuss of dining in, this is a great choice. I’ll definitely be back to try more items from their menu.

My daughter and I ate here for the first time a couple of months ago. I have been traveling and now just getting to posting this review. That is how good the food and service are at this restaurant!! The owner was warm and hospitable even greeting us with a hug!! . She is a sweet lady and we felt like we were at home with our favorite auntie. The food…WOW! I am a chef myself and can be critical when eating out. The food was delicious, with healthy fresh ingredients. The flavor was fabulous. I ordered egusi, goat meat and a few other items. The flavor that lingered behind in my mouth was like a gift that kept on giving! Yummy. I highly recommend this place and will be my go to for African food.

I’ve been eating Le Mandingue for years. I’ve had most of the dishes on the menu. The quality of the food is consistently great. It’s delicious, fresh and extremely flavorful, with generous portions. The owners and staff are friendly. The menu is priced very reasonably. I’ve told them several times that they need to raise their prices. Believe me. It’s worth it. Tip: ask for the pepper with the jollof. Chef’s kiss!

This has to be my favorite restaurant to go to when I’m in Fredrick. The food is too good for me to wait to take a picture. So far I’ve had the red snapper, jollof rice, pepper soup, and goat pepper soup and they’ve all been amazing. 10/10 and I will continue to go back.

The food was really good, had good portion size and was flavorful and seasoned well. Only issue we had was that the fish was fried too hard which made it a little tough.

Was referred by my girlfriend at work. I was able to try her attiéké and fell in love as I have never tried and had to go back. Well… 4 months later here we are. I was able to get some with wild caught snapper, decided to get a side of jollof and plantains. My oh my oh… the food was amazing. The fish was fried and delicious. The attiéké was good, it had a mild sour taste which with the container of oil and onions complimented so well. The jollof was good, not sure what grain was used as it wasn’t white rice but it was amazing. FYI I would suggest ordering ahead as when I went it and place an order at restaurant it took roughly 45 minutes as it’s made to order. Overall worth the wait
