I am visiting Trenton from up central Jersey. Decided to stop at this place and order the fish and grits which came with eggs and toast. I think that’s the best fish and grits platter I’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly seasoned. And the portion size was huge for a very adorable price. The cook/owner was very pleasant as well. I’m traveling to Trenton for 7 days and will definitely be stopping here again before my time ends here! I’m more than happy to support this man’s small business and will visit again if I’m ever in the area in the future.

I found way way here based on enthusiastic reviews, and I have to say that they didn’t steer me wrong in the least. I ordered Oxtail with yams and cornbread, and it was all out of this world, especially the oxtail and rice!
As I sit here in food bliss, I’ve still got a mess of rice and half the yams left, and even though I’m completely full, I can’t stop eating. It’s THAT good. I’ll absolutely be back to try more! Great food, great people 5/5!

Tried the chicken, mac and cheese, yams, cabbage, potato salad. For a soul food spot, I was rather disappointed as I think my own cooking of these foods is much better and I’m not a professional in any way. The chicken was barely seasoned, the mac was less than average and the potato salad was terrible. The yams and cabbage were pretty good. I’m not a harsh food critic but this was just terrible all around. The customer service was perfect though but of course, I can’t eat customer service so that was the only saving grace.

If I could give them 10 stars I would…. That food was so DAMN GOOD!!!!!! Some of the best food I have had this YEAR!!!!! I had the fried pork chops with the Mac and cheese and yams!!!!!!! 10s across the BOARD!!!! Definitely going back there before I leave the area.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant . The food is really good, I ordered the fried whiting with fries. They definitely are not stingy with the food, I couldn’t finish it all. The fries were so good, I don’t know what they do differently compared to other places but the fries were hitting. The restaurant is nice and clean and they have some entertainment from the television while you wait for your food. The place was not crowded when I went for my order just in case I called in. So I would definitely recommend this place. You have to try their fish It was so good.

10/10 definitely recommend!! We had the 2 bbq chicken and 3 rib combo with rice. I got Mac & cheese, collard greens and yams on the side too. Exquisite!! Great price, quick thorough service, not a long wait time, plenty of options for drinks and chips as well. Definitely will return! Food was so good I didn’t even get a picture but I’ll add next time I come.

Got there to some of the friendliest staff, super chill environment, ordered my food (which was priced so reasonably in this day and age), sat and chatted with the guys there until my food was ready, got my food, took one bite and now I’m writing this to tell yall that was probably the best one bite of a chicken sandwich I ever had, check this place out!!
