After dinner, we did bring our complaints to the attention of the veteran hostess who efficiently called over the manager who promptly notified us that he worked in restaurants in Midtown Manhattan and “this will work, it’s just the first weekend of the roll out”. Which leads me to this question – being a manager for a “restaurant in Midtown – where is the common sense to NOT roll out new changes on what is probably your busiest weekend of the year?? A quick apology was given to us to push out the door so new customers would not hear what is lacking.
I am truly saddened by the downhill crumble this restaurant is taking. My husband and I had our first date here and felt this was some place we would go for years to come, however if the attitude and new changes implemented by new management do not change, I am not sure if anyone will be able to go to this restaurant in the future. You cannot charge high quality prices and not assume your clients are going to want high quality service in return,
Fiance & I have been going here for about 4 years. It is “our place”. The food always amazes us and we have always received quality service. Never waited, even without reservations. Whether our not it is on the menu, they always serve me stuffed shrimp. Desserts, when we can fit them, are delicious as well! Def try this place out!
late (about 8:30) just as a group of 10 diners was leaving. We had no
reservation and the hostess told us it would be just a few minutes to set
the table, her implication being all the other tables were full. She
suggested we go to the bar for a quick drink. After a considerable wait, we
approached her again. She said she was sorry, she had FORGOTTEN about us
because she was busy. Once we were seated we realized only a handful of
tables were occupied. There were plenty of empty tables, we could and should
have been seated immediately. What a turn off!
