Seating: Around 8-9 tables, good for small groups or solo diners.
Service: Only one staff member working when I went, but she was friendly and attentive.
Hotpot Style: a little different from the other solo pot restaurant. Each person gets their own pot. You choose your meats & ingredients, then cook them yourself–no overcooked food, no broth boiling over. I liked this style a lot.
Overall: Chill weekday vibe, quiet atmosphere ( not sure if its a slow time or the area is naturally quiet) , and a solid 3.5-4 experience. Great spot if you enjoy solo hotpot without the rush.
The decor was pleasant, brings you a coziness and give a clean and relaxing feeling.
The server were friendly and attentive while explaining about about to the menu. I finally took the advice and ordered the Sichuan pot. The server also came over during the meal to care about our dining experience. Compared to the first time, they have taken a slight improvement in the recipes. I was pleased with this and I could see the sincerity with which this restaurant treats its customers.
The best thing about the food is the freshness and variety of the ingredients. I was surprised that the amount of an ORDER was excellent! I could tasted the freshness from the ingredients themselves, which is the ultimate in cuisine.
Overall, I would definitely coming back and recommend to others!
I came here hoping for a peaceful, local hot-pot spot and got the exact opposite. This was one of the most stressful dining experiences in my recent years. The menu is unnecessarily complicated; you have to individually select every single ingredient for your hot pot, which feels intentionally confusing to induce upsell.
To make matters worse, the pricing is completely opaque. Beyond the base price of the pot, you have to pay extra for essential items you’d expect to be included. The final straw was a baffling, unjustified “extra starch” charge on my bill, which is supposedly added to the bill if you order more than one starch items. When I asked the server for clarification, the explanation was a broken record that just got louder, not clearer.
I want to emphasize that I am highly sympathetic and supportive of local businesses. However, their success and survival depend on doing the right thing for the customers. If you value clarity, simplicity, and just a pleasant dining experience, avoid this place. I left feeling frustrated and unjustly served. I rarely write one-star reviews. Unfortunately, Solo Pot made it.
