I ordered 3 apps to start. The meatballs, the Japan style shrimp, and the korean bbq ribs.
The meatballs were dry, bland, and luke warm at best. Strike one.
The Korean Spare Ribs were sour and a little sweet. The meat was sour, and sour pork means it was likely old or low quality. The sauce was very generic and just added a subtle sweet note to the sour pork. Strike 2.
The shrimp were awful. One of the worst shrimp dishes I’ve ever had served to me. The shrimp were either old, freezer burnt, and/or overcooked. The were rubbery, chewy, and tasteless. The cook on them could be best described as mushy and possibly microwaved. The sauce was terribly put together. Very watery and very off-putting. Strike three.
We were going to order sushi and an entree, but after that abismal showing we said no thanks.
Bottom line, avoid this place at all costs. The menu is all over the place and nothing we had even remotely worth paying for.
I love coming here to sit at the bar or enjoy the Patio. Sushi is back, (Mondays Only) but the rolls are very thin for the price. Our Alaska Roll for 15.- was supposed to have Tobiko, but that was missing. Our Caterpillar Roll also had just tiny bites. I wouldn’t make a special trip to come back for Sushi, but we enjoyed the brussel sprouts appetizer and our Martinis. We do miss tho the metal glasses to keep them longer cool in the summer. 😉
Our waitress was great! Thank you
UPDATE, of course like everywhere Covid has changed a lot. There is no more Sushi here 🙁 I think, a huge loss for this place and our area. We need another good Sushi Place.
Like most places prices have gone up a lot, portions are not quite the same. Happy Hours are nothing like they used to be. I do have to say tho tonight the food and drinks were yummy. 🙂
Great neighborhood place with a great atmosphere and awesome patio in the summer. I have come here for many years and always loved it. The Sushi is the best here. Only a 4 star review today tho since their awesome Happy Hour disappeared and the new “HHour” ( just a dollar off on selected items) is only until 6 pm now instead of 7pm. Also the Sushi rolls are more expensive, but much smaller then they use to be:-(
I hope they reevaluate some of these changes in 2020. Still love you guys 😉 Happy New Year.
Delicious! Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices, simple yet elegant plating. Very reliable menu.
