This place is really really really really really cool. You can come here and pay $10 a person or you can do a group on Wednesdays for like 25 an hour, this is really a great place, I got to meet the owner and his family and one of the workers there, they do a phenomenal job. This is a great area with great food great drinks great specials and a great time. They got an outdoor area that’s absolutely gorgeous as well!

So lucky to have this place nearby! Food was high quality, alcoholic and coffee drinks were as good as anything I’d order in a restaurant, and so so so many games and even puzzles to choose from. We brought a handful of (well-behaved) kids that were warmly welcomed and even games for them to play as well. I never write reviews but this is such a gem of a local business and I want them to be around for a long time! Go support them!

Reuben was amazing.
Frozen latte with lavender was yummy.
We played games for 4 hours for our friend’s bday party.
Thanks for letting her host her party!
We had a great experience (and I’m not into LARPING/RPG/anime/videogames etc. I’m more into playing sports, and singing karaoke, but I felt comfortable).

Valhalla took the idea of “rustic atmosphere” and not only nailed it perfectly. They created a store that welcomes you with open arms and an environment to comfortably play in. The board game selection is incredible with everything to casual “family oriented” games to board games meant for the truly dedicated. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. While I am not a board game aficionado, I can respect the dedication Valhalla put into making their store one of the most unique places in central Alabama

This past weekend we had the honor of checking out Valhalla Board Game Cafe grand opening. Most people that know me know I am not much of a board game player but will always join in and play some cool board games! I was mainly here to support friends and of course eat some food!

So Adam Valentine, the other co-owner, and his staff have been working hard getting this place ready and it definitely showed! I mean every last detail was covered. The art on the walls were spectacular as well as the decor and custom tables with their logo on it. They even have merchandise for you to check out and purchase. Easy 10/10.

The staff was amazing everyone was all smile, very helpful, and very quick. I didn’t feel rushed or unwanted it was super welcoming. With all the people that were there they did a great job. Staff gets an easy 10/10.

Now I’m sure you guys want to know about the food that’s what you’re here for right? The food was very simple but very high quality. They were working with a limited menu for the opening so this menu may change or just have more options in general in the future.

I ordered the chicken sandwich it was kinda like a club sandwich (I don’t remember the name of the sandwich sorry) it had cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a huge pile of deli sliced chicken. Not to mention the super soft brioche sliced bread. Did I mention the meats and cheeses are all the Boar’s Head products?! The sandwich was absolutely delicious the only thing I would have wished I could’ve had done was have the bread toasted. Other then that it gets a solid 8.9/10. You also get a pickle and a choice of chips baked or regular and your choice of different coffees, soda, or water.

I want to point out we also got a charcuterie board with lots of meats, cheese, fruits, and vegetables. It was really good of course just wish it was a easier way to get the deli meats of the scewers like tongs or something without everyone touching it with their hands when sharing it.

I really enjoyed my time here and plan to be back especially to try more stuff on that menu and play games of course! It was so fun and I encourage everyone to go check this place out and show these guys some support. They are located in the Campus No. 124 building.

My wife and I visited Valhalla Board Game Cafe for their grand opening. We were very impressed by how well the staff handled such a large crowd. Board game selection is unmatched. Food was delicious and hearty. Coffee and espresso was outstanding – would highly recommend as a Starbucks replacement if you pass it on your commute. Highly recommend!

Probably the coolest themed coffee shop I’ve been to in this state. The staff are so nice and personable and patient, there are plenty of areas to set up and game for hours as well as cozy couches and tables to enjoy your coffee. They have 3D printers, plenty of board games and card games to choose from. Boar’s Head meats for the sandwiches and snacks, their own brand of coffees, teas, and liquors you can buy all in store, I will be coming back very often!!
