Cute Mexican restaurant with flair. Dined in for a late lunch today. Salsa was good; were offered cheese sauce/guac as options, too. Menu had the old favorites as well as some new and different offerings – same with the drinks. We ordered two of the lunch specials – Chicken stuffed burrito (think giant soft chimichanga) and prime rib tacos. While we waited, we got samples of a tea and a horchata. Both were tasty and the horchata made from scratch. I also got a side of guac with the burrito that was absolutely STELLAR. Had trouble getting my husband to leave me some! His tacos came with two special sauces – one a green sauce that he ate every smidgen of, and an organgish one that was seriously hot. It was good but a little goes a long way. Both orders were served with the standard rice and beans. Even after gorging ourselves, we brought home enough leftovers for another meal for the two of us. Service was fairly good. As one other reviewer noted, a little slow at the end of the meal, but nothing that will keep us from returning.

Oh I have no clue how to describe my experience, the place is Adorable, young boy doing everything fantastic! The food unexplainable shrimp horrible dried out! Food zero flavor, bland I don’t think in the 2 year’s I’ve been here we ever had horrible food ! Posted pictures on Facebook made me crave this place, trust me it looks nothing like the pictures as you can see, after seeing so many say please support this local business I decided let’s go….litterly all the way home to Lancaster it was a chat about a Mexican restaurant with no flavor and dried out food rice hard small portions thats why the competition is busy , worst shrimp in the United States weak drinks im horribly upset I wasted 70 plus dollars, but we tipped well because this boy was working hard, polite and answered all our questions…sad day …

Rancho Viejo has great food and creative drink offerings. I enjoyed the Pina Loca which gives you a variety of grilled meats and veggies in half a pineapple. Burritos and enchiladas were also good and the serving sizes were generous. Thanks to the staff for making our visit great!

We always come in when we’re in town. Unlike a lot of Mexican restaurants, this one doesn’t over salt the food and the chicken is never overcooked. The owner’s boys help out when not in school and they are very pleasant. It’s just a great place to eat.

At first, I was apprehensive about eating here, as there was only one car in the parking lot. Upon entering, you will find a friendly waiter/waitress and a very clean establishment. The menu wasn’t overwhelming like you see in some Mexican restaurants. The food was delicious!! The owner came around to our table, and we spoke for about 15 minutes. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!

The food was delicious and we will be back. It is not fancy, but everything was clean. They had a few people stop to pick up take out orders, and almost every table was full in the section we were in. The two young men were busy. We didn’t need refills when they first checked on us, then we didn’t get asked again and ran out of beverages. The boys were rarely not busy, so we understood. The food did not take too long to arrive and it was hot and tasty. We ordered the seafood burrito with shrimp, scallops and crab on top and the fajita Mar y tierra which arrived sizzling hot and smelled fantastic. As we sat down, we were presented with tortilla chips and salsa, which was tasty and wonderful as we were very hungry.
We understand this restaurant can get busy, which means if you go at peak hours, you may have to wait.

Our first visit and we expect it won’t be our last. Bright clean restaurant. Nice restrooms. Plenty of parking area. Easy access. Very friendly staff, very helpful and accommodating. Hubs had a flounder and shrimp meal, very happy with it. I had chicken quesadilla and was very happy with it. Reasonable prices for a quick but relaxing lunch.

I’m somewhat perplexed about the high review ratings. Maybe we just hit it on a bad night, but this was by far the worst Mexican food I have ever had. Cold and somewhat tasteless. Again, given the good reviews posted here….maybe it was just an off night.
