I ordered food through DoorDash 45 mins before this place closed and we got old looking links and soggy bread since the cook doesn’t know that you put barbecue sauce on the side not in the sandwiches! Mac and cheese tasted like it had been sitting all day! There are too many barbecue places in Texas to keep giving one business to many chances! This is the last time I order from this place!

The ribs are on point! The bark has a deep, smoky color with a nice peppery rub. There’s visible moisture and a good smoke ring on the meat. They are tender and not overcooked — that perfect bite-through rib texture.
Potato Salad: 7/10
Creamy and classic-looking potato salad. Good chunk size, rich color, and you can see the seasoning plus bits of relish in it. It tastes homemade and not overly processed, which is a win.
Baked Beans: 6.5/10
The beans are hearty with a thick sauce and seasoning. They have that barbecue-joint glaze going on.

I came today for my birthday wanting to try something new ! The guy there was very nice . I got the rotel nachos with Doritos and two meats . Brisket and ribs . It was great, the bbq sauce was spicy . It was fulfilling and worth every bit . The bbq was amazing no fat !

Im so pissed and disappointed. I never leave bad reviews even if I didn’t enjoy my meal or feel like something could have been better. If I could give it a -100 yes a negative 100 I would. My husband and I don’t usually eat out maybe every other week or so because I usually cook. We’ll today was treat day for us and I’m very disappointed. Spent over $50 for what I would consider trash. Let’s see had 2 meat plate brisket and links 5 small squares of tough brisket, the links where whole not cut nor sliced. Let’s talk about the sides potato salad tasted like store bought and fixed up so it was eatable, mac n cheese gritty old I don’t know what that was and collard greens OMG greens had stalks as big as my thumb throughout and they were not all the way done with chunks of I’m assuming turkey or chicken. My husband add the same thing the only difference was a 3 meat plate with a leg quarter well the leg quarter looked like it was injected yes that is how huge it was and the chicken was rubbery. What a WASTE and we really thought we had found a nice BBQ spot to support. Never again!!!! This was a waste of time and money. We should have went to Dallas and got BBQ… I dug our food out the trash just to leave this review. Oh and what BBQ place does not give bread with their BBQ.

I have been here twice and the food is always DELICIOUS!! The first time I had the lamb chop plate with baked beans and macaroni and cheese. Them Lamb Chops though… seasoned to perfection and tender! Baked beans were very good as well as the macaroni. The second time I tried the oxtails with a side of macaroni and greens. Everything was so good and it seems like the macaroni was even creamier than the last time! I even had leftover oxtail which I warmed up in the oven the next day and ate it with my dinner. I’ll definitely be back.

I ordered a brisket sandwich, a link sandwich, and a Texas Twinkie. The food was all delicious. The sandwiches have so much meat that I was able to make myself two sandwiches from each one. Great taste and great portions! I’m a Rudy’s bbq girl but man are they far and lack in flavor compared to J&J’s!
Update: I tried the 7up cake and it is soft, moist, absolutely incredible!!

It was my first time trying this place since I am a Forney local I wanted to support a local business. I ordered the three meat plate with potato salad and beans, which were really good. Most places you don’t get good of both. It’s usually either or so I was happy that both were really good. I got double brisket and ribs for the meats. Now the brisket was really good except we got more fat than brisket which sucked. The ribs weren’t tender they were really tough. We ended up only eating one between me and my husband and child because it was that tough. The Texas Twinkie definitely had to been old because when I bit into it, the brisket was so hard that I couldn’t chew it so we didn’t eat it. Overall id rate this place 5/10.

J&J BBQ is absolutely amazing! Every time we come we tell ourselves we are going to try more of the menu, knowing that it’s ALL GOOD, but the whole family always comes back to the Fat Boy Sandwich with its macaroni and cheese layer added to the barbecue because it is so incredibly delicious! This food truck is a must try!
