There are quite the varied opinions on where in Red River has the best burger (many of which are not available on a Sunday) but this recommendation did not disappoint. I know you’re thinking that that the ode to Texas gave it an unfair advantage for this Texan but I can assure you we are an equal opportunity reviewer at The Burger Trail. Texas Reds Steakhouse has a steak burger made with the steak trimmings and at first glance I thought this burger had slim chances of being worth two bites. Luckily I know what it feels like to be wrong and that feeling came flooding over me right away. It’s a thick patty but it’s juicy and full of flavor – presumably just like their steaks. Definitely an A. The cheese is only slightly detectable as it was a small dose of shredded cheddar atop a patty big enough to warrant more cheese. This would’ve been a case to choose American cheese because surely that was sliced. The squeeze bottle flight of condiments (mustard, mayo, and ketchup) won my heart as I like my mayo like I like my quality time – plentiful and rich. The bartender Marshal made this experience just as good as the burger itself and placed Red River on The Burger Trail map. Cheers to Texas Reds Steakhouse for making a steak burger chocked full of flavor in a little mountain town!

Great food. I had the 8oz filet and it was cooked perfectly. The server was very friendly and food came out quick. The bread pudding was one of the best I ever had.
Only issue was checking in at opening. We got there about 10 minutes before opening (no idea they were not open yet) and the hostess said have a seat we will start seating at 4. Other people did the same. A line quickly began to form behind the host stand going out the door. It then became a chaotic mess as the people sitting and waiting (like the hostess told us to do) had to figure out how to get seated. Lots of snarky comments and rudeness. Easy fix, just let us know, to get in line. Or seat the people you told to sit first.

Our food was great !!! Steaks were the best !! A very enjoyable place to eat !! Staff was great !!! Recently eat here again, it was outstanding!!! Love the atmosphere of this place . Our server “Sweet Tea” did a awesome job, couldn’t ask for better. Our steaks were great !! We had a small wait, but had a large group so that was to be expected.

We went to Texas Reds on a bustling evening. We found a lucky spot in the bar area and were fortunate enough to be served by Tom. Tom was kind, flexible, and attentive. Live musicians performed and locals gathered round to sing along. The food was excellent and well prepared with house made recipes. The bar offered us a sneak peak into local life in red river- lovely people with sense of community.

Always busy because it’s some of the best food in town. Been a staple in Red River for decades. Can’t go wrong with any of their steak choices, or try the trout and quail. A bit pricey, but you’re on vacation and deserve it.

I wanted to email the business about this rather than broadcast it on the page but I couldn’t find another way to contact. I’ve been coming here with my family for years and have never had a bad experience until now. Even had this same server multiple times and she’s rocked out every time! Over the weekend my family and I had the same server again and she was great until she reached in her apron to take my order and a small bag with smiley faces full of a white substance dropped on the table. She grabbed it immediately and stuffed it in her book and proceeded to take our order. My family was afraid to eat as they didn’t know if the substance had touched their food previous to being brought out to us. This has never happened to us and I hoped that it hasn’t happened to other customers before. Again, I hoped to address this through email and I hope not to get the server fired but I do believe she needs a bit of help to ensure nothing like this happens again. I don’t want to expose her name but if it’s important to the establishment enough that you wish to know, please reach out.

Well, the wait was reasonable however, once we sat down the server, Adam (who was actually great) took our order, unfortunately brought us the wrong order and we waited another 20 minutes for our food order, so steaks were not cooked to order, both literally raw! So had to take back to Airbnb and cook enough to eat! Again, however, the server was very generous with our bill and only charges for the food not the drinks and gave us dessert on him! So we definitely plan to go back and try it again!

We went here for a granddaughter’s birthday. The kids menu was very good & more than they could eat. We had the grilled chicken with okra & baked potato all were perfection. My daughter in law had prime rib. It was over cooked & looked like shoe leather on the plate, on pink at all on the inside & very dry. My son had the elk burger. He sad it was delicious. Waitress did a great job for a party of 11 with 7 small kids!

After calling an hour and half ahead of time because they don’t take reservations we had to be added to the waitlist. The wait service was good but the hostess told us several different times that a table would be available. It was originally 30 minutes but actually 45 minutes.

We have eaten here many times over the years and this visit was nothing short of awful. I’ll start with the wait, which I understand can’t be helped. We were initially told it would be an hour and 45 minute wait, but it ended up being a 2.5 hour wait. We did have a couple of margaritas on the rocks while we waited that were excellent. Upon arriving at our table, we had to ask for our waters 4-5 times from our waiter. The initial beer order that was placed before any food items ended up arriving with our main course. The buffalo and elk burgers that were ordered medium were well done and cold. My wife and I ordered prime rib, medium rare that was raw and cold as well. As inattentive as the waiter was and the condition the food was served to us in, I’m sad to say we will never go back.
