We walked in and didn’t see anyone except for the cook behind the counter so waited there assuming you order at the counter. He waited 10 minutes before acknowledging us and telling we could sit. Eventually someone came for our order. Was missing toppings but it was corrected. We got a good portion of meat but the broth was cold and not very flavorful. The boba drinks were good as well. Not the worst we have had but definitely not the best.

Oh and finding parking nearby was a nightmare.

Update Dec 2025: we came back and tried the bentos and a few apps. He got the steak and it was good the meat not overdone but it was cold. I got the curry chicken and it was actually hot but only the temperature I was expecting some spice or anything and it was closer to a gravy or creamy chicken dish. The gyoza appetizer was fried which was unexpected since the menu picture shows steamed and wasn’t that great not a lot of filling or flavor…probably frozen. Other places have better options for same price. The sesame balls were good.

My food was so good! Customer service was amazing. He was very helpful with explaining everything since it was my first time eating there. I will definitely be back! I had the Super fruit to drink with the beef Ramen, add egg and mushroom. Temple shrimp, I did add a little spice to it when I got home!

The food was amazing me and my friend stopped from Michigan while picking something up and decided we wanted some ramen. This place did not disappoint at all. The waitress was amazing and after talking with us gave us a list of places we should stop. Made the whole thing feel personal and I got this really nice to go cup. Would rate 6 stars if I could.

We went to this restaurant for the first time and it was very good & big portion. We had ramen seafood, general Tso’s chicken and was surprised by how good it was. Great job….

the food was absolutely fantastic. the sesame balls were hot and fresh, everything was so flavorful and delicious. the crab rangoons and sesame balls were my favorite. however, at the end of our meal we asked our waitress for two to-go boxes for a kimchi ramen and a chicken katsu ramen. she took the chicken katsu ramen and didnt give a box for it 🙁 the ramen is absolutely delicious and i was looking forward to enjoying at home. i did feel the music was very quiet and with the seating so close, it was a bit awkward to have conversation and i felt a little insecure with my three person group talking. the food was so very good though and the menu was easy to understand, definitely felt as though it was worth the price.

When I came into the A&J Ramen Spot with my four person group, we were not greeted nicely by the staff or had any interactions by the staff and got seated quickly. Not much talking or interaction. After, we had a decently long wait to start our orders and drinks. Proximately 5-15 minute wait even just for drinks. The drinks were watered down and nasty. Then, we waited another 20-25 minutes for our food to even come from the staff. The food looks better in the picture than it actually tastes. It wasn’t horrible, but it should’ve been much better and not so bland. We ordered the Pork Belly Ramen, one bowl had a large ratio of noodles to soup, another had a large ratio of soup to noodles. The food also wasn’t hot and again, was bland. We added hot sauce, and it made the food much better. All of our stomachs hurt and wouldn’t recommended! They did greet us once, but it took awhile to get the check as well. We had to get up and get the check ourselves. Wouldn’t come here again! And wouldn’t recommend.

Went here for the first time with my family since they wanted ramen and this was close to Kent State. I had the curry bento box that came with spring rolls, pot stickers, California rolls, and rice. The sushi was decent and so were the pot stickers and spring rolls, but the curry was VERY bland and had a congealed texture to it, like they used too much corn starch. Even after adding some soy sauce, it didn’t make it any better.

My wife had the beef teriyaki bento which was better. The popcorn chicken my daughter had is basically bite sized Karaage and was tender and well seasoned, and the boba drinks that everyone had were good (mango pomelo and classic with brûlée).

Other than the curry (not recommended), my other main gripe was the King Crab ramen my other daughter had. It came with a decent amount of crab for $23, but the downside was that you had to take the crab meat out of the shell first. My daughter was lucky enough to have my help taking the crab meat out while she ate (at the expense of my own food getting cold), but if someone by themselves ordered it, they would have to do all that work, which isn’t easy with the spiky king crab shell, all while their ramen gets cold. When I order a bowl of ramen, I just want to dive right in while it’s still nice and hot so the way they serve that particular ramen version isn’t very diner-friendly.

My suggestion to the restaurant is to have the crab meat accessible as soon as you serve the food. Having your diners work for their food by making them take the crab meat out themselves, which is tedious and somewhat painful, while their broth and noodles gets cold, doesnt make any sense.

3 star for the king crab ramen, and 4-5 stars for the rest of the food, gets them a 4 overall.

Best Ramen in Town!
Hands down the best ramen you’ll find in this area! The flavors are amazing, the ingredients are super fresh, and the staff is literally the most polite and friendly you’ll ever meet. They make you feel so welcome every time. Highly recommend. I’ll definitely keep coming back!

Bring your own spices, seriously!!! 0 flavor.
Check your order, got mine wrong.
Soup has odd nasty water flavor.
Do not drink the water it has a nasty flavor and aftertaste. And smells.
No heat on any dishes.
Some items are ok at best, but some are just bad.
Way to expensive for the quality and quantity.
The dishes look nice, just taste bad.
