Since we opened our doors in 1989 many things have changed; we’ve updated the menus, undergone a renovation, and added more staff to our Basta family. Still, our commitment to fresh, authentic Italian food has always been the same. In fact, we work to improve each and every day to continually dazzle our guests. We came here for a birthday dinner in December 2025 and had a really lovely dinner.
The inside of the restaurant was elaborately decorated for the holidays with ornaments of all containing from the ceiling.
Every single dish that we ordered was excellent, but the squid ink pasta special was probably the best one of them all. The truffle burrata special was also really excellent as an appetizer. The old-fashioned butter cake, and Elle’s famous cheesecake are absolutely both worth ordering for dessert!
Our server was very nice and attentive.

I don’t typically write reviews , but my husband and I have been eating there throughout the years celebrating milestones . This hidden gem has it’s rustic Italian vibes, it’s basically the only restaurant we sit at and eat . It is a must have and if you haven’t a must try located right on the Warwick / Cranston line . There’s always fresh flowers at the tables , the best espresso martinis , and we tried the antipasto which was amazing ( for me it’s the details ) , and the food is phenomenal every time . Plus it’s a small local business. We had our date night Friday and were not disappointed.

We only stopped by for dessert, but it was absolutely worth it. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere has a nice high-end feel without being pretentious. Highly recommend trying the old-fashioned butter cake, rich, warm, and truly the star of the visit. Would definitely come back just for that!

Deserving of 5 stars off of the service alone. Waitress and staff super attentive and knowledgeable of the cuisine. The food and atmosphere were top tier as well. My boyfriend and I frequent Italian restaurants around the region and this place is as good as any. We got the strawberry bruschetta, squash blossoms, truffle pasta, and finished off with the made to order lava cake. Delicious!

This place is awesome. We came here for my birthday in June and loved it so much that we decided to bring back friends for our annual Xmas dinner. The food and drinks are amazing, the ambiance is cool and the service was great. Taylor was our server on Saturday night and it was like having a friend hang out with us. I can’t recommend it enough

Fantastic dining experience last night at Basta. The food was off the charts for taste , freshness, and presentation. We had the Veal chop, Baked Lobster, and Swordfish Francaise. The best swordfish I have ever had.
Our Server, Giselle, was outstanding offering us friendly and professional attention and always with a smile.
The decor was festive and fun and we were treated to live music.
Can’t wait to come back.

This was our 1st time being at Basta, we absolutely loved it. We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday, Basta didn’t disappoint. I had their strip steak special which came with herb potatoes as well as roasted baby corn. The steak was cooked to perfection as you can see in the pictures below. The birthday boy had the veal chop. He ate the whole thing which says alot. Our server was great and attentive and made my husband fill so special on his day. Thanks Basta. My only disappointment is that I live in Arizona and I can’t make this a monthly date night.

Our party of 4 made a last minute reservations for 8:45pm the day of after going out to Nantucket for the day. It was a chilly and rainy day and we were desperate for a warm meal! We got to BASTA around 8:30 and were met at the door by a couple of very disgruntled patrons, upset about their service, attempting to convince us leave and go somewhere else to eat. As tourists in the area we were immediately worried that we would have the same experience, but when we looked around and spoke to the hostess everyone else in the restaurant seemed happy and the food on the tables looked amazing, so we took a chance. We are so glad we did. Our server was incredible, within 10 minutes of being sat, we had our waters, cocktails and then a bit later appetizers. (The Strawberry Bruschetta is to die for). Our entrees came later based off recommendations from our terrific server; along with the manager checking in with us regarding the experience we had at the door. He was kind and genuine about explaining that the experience we had was rare and how sorry he felt that we were mislead like that. He later brought us complimentary limoncello shots for the table as an apology. We stuck around even longer to indulge in dessert, you have to get the Butter Cake. Overall we had a fantastic meal, there wasn’t a single bite that we took that wasn’t heavenly, and a fantastic time dining at BASTA. The meal was literally worth writing home about, as we called our families to gloat about the experience on the drive back. I would recommend dining here to anyone I know.

My family has now hosted two events at Basta. A bridal shower and most recently my baby shower. The staff from planning to the day of has been attentive helpful and a pleasure to work with. The food is always amazing and I love it there.
