This place has been on my list of places to check off the boxes and I finally stopped by. The owners were so sweet. I love the decor inside as well as the products being sold. The wife makes some of the earring pieces and I love that for her. Praying safety for the new born for the bakery and family! They are so funny and easy going!

This is a popular bakery known to locals. It is just three minutes away from the Baywood-Los Osos Farmers Market.
The sourdough bread is the signature item. It isn’t just a typical sourdough bread it’s something far more authentic.
I especially liked the cranberry walnut-flavored loaf. It is chewy with plenty of fruit.
My husband loved the salted chocolate chip cookies very much. After he tried it. He immediately turned around and bought another two.
This store provides an outdoor dining area to enjoy whatever you purchase.
There is also an indoor shopping section that sells local products and souvenirs for your convenience.
This bakery is only open from Thursday to Monday. Everything sells very fast so I would suggest you go there earlier to secure your favorite items.

Such I nice little place in Los Osos worth checking out. Gluten free loaf of bread is by far the most tasty delicious bread I have had. Soups are really good also. The desserts the wife loves and their gluten free cookie are sooooo good.

They have good Sonora wheat bread made to a more German style weight. Loaves are substantial and tasty with good texture. The croissant is actually very bread like, very far away from the flaky French ones. Goo5sour dough, good rye breads.

These people sure know flour and bread. Not cheap at $10 a loaf, but extraordinary taste and freshness. I mostly like the whole wheat “Miche”. Desserts pricey and yummy.

I buy Caliwala loafs from Sunshine Health Foods store in Morro Bay. I am obsessed w/ the Rosemary Olive Loaf & my boyfriend loves the Jalapeño Cheddar loaf. You will not want to eat store bought bread ever again. You will dream about these loaves.:)

I was back visiting LO and brought my family to try what I thought was still Pagnols, but to my surprise it’s now Caliwala! I’m not up to date on the change but Caliwala did not disappoint at allllll. I tried several items — chocolate chip cookie, roasted veggie tamale pie, potato & mushroom empanada, and the cheddar garlic loaf. Omg everything was amazing.
The cheddar garlic loaf was INSANE. Just the perfect crust on the outside, spongy soft bread on the inside, and it was baked to open-crumb perfection. I loved the large pieces of garlic and cheddar inside. You can see and taste the ingredients. I thought the loaf would last a day or two but it was consumed in it’s entirety within 20 minutes. Out of this world.

Very good gluten free options. My favorite is the French onion soup croissant (sourdough). Ham and cheese sourdough croissant is best breakfast sandwich we’ve ever had. Cardamom in the cinnamon roll is delicious.

Wow what an absolute gem of a bakery! The owner is so passionate about his craft. Every time we’re in SLO, we have to come pick up a few loaves of his sourdough varieties. Our favorite is the rosemary olive sourdough!!! Pick up some cheese and wine on your way to sandspit beach for a lovely Oceanside picnic!!
