We have passed by the restaurant a hundred times and finally, we enjoyed the most wonderful meal. We were greeted at the bar by Ralph, who was knowledgeable and friendly! We ordered the wahoo tataki, conch chowder to start. The wahoo tataki was phenomenal! The conch chowder was tasty and spicy, spicy.
For our mains, we had the wahoo over rice and the triple tail. Both were served “Ambassador” style with crab, calers in a lemon butter sauce. The sauce was so tasty and perfect, but not as perfect as the coconut rice!! Best rice I ever had, and I know rice.
It’s a great place for locals and visitors alike. They treat everyone so nice. Thanks for having us….we will be back again!

Very refined dining (especially for the keys!). Clean, lovely room. Nice not to have tables on top of each other. Nice, comfortable bar. Friendly, informed service. And excellent food. Duck was the very definition of Crispy! The seafood pasta had plenty of scallops, shrimp and lobster and I defy anyone to eat the entire portion! Wines were good, although not exciting.

I’ve reviewed restaurants for years and as of right now, this is the best food I’ve ever had.
1. The complimentary bread and garlic infused olive oil (and herbs). Salty, savory and delicious.
2. Iceberg salad – this was the juciest most succulent salad I’ve ever had. The bacon was out of this world and the gorgonzola cheese was stunning.
3. Roasted duck + hogfish/shrimp/scallops. So good. Decadent and flavored so well. The unique sauces and extras paired so well.
4. THIS is the best key lime pie in the Keys. Despite what others claim, this is the best. The raspberry/strawberry sauce put it over the edge.
Thanks to server Jennifer for the warm and friendly service. The chef put heart, soul and black magic into this food. What an experience.

Chef Michael’s came highly recommended, and it absolutely delivered. The conch and shrimp fritters were perfectly crisp and packed with flavor, and the lionfish appetizer was amazing—fresh, light, and beautifully done. The stuffed shrimp easily made my top list. They’re also known for their hogfish, which is clearly a must-order on future visits. Great wine selection and a well-curated bar experience. Ashley took amazing care of us and made the night even better. This is a must-visit for food lovers—just be sure to make a reservation in advance. Highly recommend.

We had our first visit to Chef Michael’s and were genuinely impressed! It’s a fine dining restaurant, but the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality and experience. The atmosphere felt upscale yet welcoming, and the service was attentive throughout our meal.
The highlight was definitely the food — everything we ordered was delicious, beautifully plated, and full of flavor.
The only downside for us was the dessert — it didn’t quite live up to the rest of the meal. It wasn’t bad, just not as memorable as the main courses.
Overall, a great experience and we’re already looking forward to going back. Highly recommend!

Chef Michael’s has some of the best sauces and fish preparations I’ve ever had. Choosing between the six or seven sauces is much harder than the type of fish. Can’t go wrong with any of them. Great overall dining experience, highly recommended.

Wonderful fine dining in Islamorada! Lovely seafood preparations to choose from. We had lion fish and hogfish. Two fish you don’t often see on menus and they were both delightful. And then there was the key lime pie. I am generally not a fan of citrus pie as I prefer a fruit pie or just another style of dessert (like chocolate), but this key lime pie was well balanced and creamy. It was served with a bit of raspberry sauce and fished whipped cream. What a great addition! We had a wonderful experience.

good vegetrian plate, seafood pasta was good, but way too much and very heavy, noodles cooked until very soft, next time i would go for some grilled fish or similar

Not sure how to rate the service due to our lack of greeting upon arrival…we made reservations for 8pm days earlier by phone, even though we wanted earlier we accepted the 8pm timing as this is a busy time period in the Keys—as locals we knew this! We asked at that time if we arrived earlier could we grab a drink at the bar as we wait—we were told, yes of course!
Arrived at 7:35 and advised the young ladies outside we had a 8 pm reservation and would wait at the bar…then we were told the bar was “reservation only” and we could not come in till our 8 pm reservation…Did I mention they had been told in advance this was out 30th Wedding Anniversary?
So we went to the Sushi restaurant nextdoor who welcomed us in to their bar without a reservation to wait…
We returned at 8 and the young ladies who had shunned us earlier sheepishly said “Happy Anniversary” right this way…our waiter Eric was a delight and the food from appetizers to entrees to dessert were off the chart delicious!
So, service was a zero to hero thanks to Eric, but maybe someone needs to discuss with the young ladies up front and the first impression of the restaurant how to treat guests!
Way to put a damper on our Anniversary but kudos to Eric and the superb Chef for an outstanding meal.
