From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into your best friend’s kitchen—if your best friend just happened to be an incredibly talented Italian chef. The food is out of this world—every dish made with love, authenticity, and bold, fresh flavors that transport you straight to Italy.
Whether it’s the hand-crafted pasta, the perfectly balanced sauces, or the heavenly desserts, every bite reminds you that real food is made from the heart. And speaking of heart, the owner is just as much a reason to visit as the food itself. She’s a beautiful soul—genuine, kind, and passionate about making sure every guest feels like family.
This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. And once you go, you’ll be counting the days ‘til you can come back again.
Antipasti I had the Bruschetta Veronese. A generous portion of 4 perfectly grilled slices of bread topped with caramelized onions, goat cheese, figs, and balsamic. It was such a lovely flavor profile with the sweetness of the balsamic glaze with the tartness of the goat cheese. I enjoyed the Cacio e Pepe on the bucatini. It was SO well done. The mellow comfort of Parmesan is capped off with a hit of black pepper. It’s like a warm hug. The bucatini was cooked perfectly al dente and supported the sauce without dulling its shine. For dessert, as mentioned above, I had the tiramisu. What I really loved was the fresh crisp of the lady fingers. It felt More like a Charlotte meets tiramisu and I found it delightful. Our dishes came out promptly once our orders were entered.
The bummer was the service support. I was there with a group of about 20 adults and 3 children that had been reserved and confirmed for over a month. It was Also Prom night. It is my understanding the reservation was lost. The staff quickly made room for us in adjoining dining space. One server took care of our entire party. It took An hour for our first round of drinks. We ordered apps and entrees as soon as drinks were out. Which came out in a proper amount of time would say. It was A trickle, but all of our dishes were delicious and eventually correct. Same with dessert. And same with our tickets. Our tickets were brought out in one by one after they were requested, leaving items left off or added incorrectly. I am not sure any of us had a correct check at first. Unable to wait out further delay, some in our party just paid and left even with an incorrect ticket.
This was not the server’s fault entirely. Not once did any of her team come to check on her, help deliver drinks, dishes, or anything. We were there from 6pm-10pm and our waters were filled twice. I felt really bad for her. I know the small local business was overwhelmed, but you would hope to see more stellar service since the food they showcase is extraordinary. The chef and her work deserve better.
The dining room was also very cold. I am sure the kitchen and dining room are on one thermostat, which makes this tricky and it is also a historic space which can be drafty, but goodness it was chilly even with a jacket.
Atmosphere:
When walking up at night, the place was very bright. After walking inside, the atmosphere looked more like a breakfast cafe than an Italian dinner restaurant. The decor looked like it was thrown together last minute. 3 stars.
Tomato Bruschetta:
The taste was good, however there were only 3 pieces. My wife and I usually split this appetizer when eating Italian but 3 pieces is hard to split. On top of that, the price was $13. This seemed rather expensive for only 3 small slices of bruschetta.
Fettuccini Cacio e pepe:
The pasta was good, nothing spectacular. Basic dish. I wish they offered protein to add to the pasta such as chicken.
Fettuccini rapini pesto:
My wife said it tasted bitter and something was wrong. I tried the dish and had to spit it out. It tasted bitter and had a plastic aftertaste. It tasted like the spinach had gone bad. The server came by and explained the rapini is what we were tasting. We love all vegetables and never return our dish but to on this one.
Fettuccini Pomodoro:
Our server gladly exchanged the Fettuccini rapini pesto for this dish. This dish tasted good. Tastes fresh and light. Very authentic tasting. 5 stars.
Service:
Our waiter was 5 stars! Excellent customer service, very polite, very understanding and accommodating.
We live in Franklin and even took food to go! It was worth the drive and can’t wait to go back. Our server, Jasmine, was awesome and the chef and owner was fabulous!
The experience wouldn’t be complete without sampling Laura’s homemade croissants, which come in a delightful variety of flavors. We tried the chocolate croissant, and it was an absolute standout—light, flaky, and generously filled with rich chocolate inside and out. Barista Wanda adds to the charm with her welcoming demeanor and exceptional cappuccino artistry, presenting each cup with elegance and care. Together, Laura and Wanda create a wholesome, family-oriented atmosphere where every visit feels special and memorable.
It is well-worth the trip to Gallatin if you’re not local to there. We have traveled from AZ to TN and so glad we came across Laura’s fine establishments….You will not be disappointed!! Both places are truly magical and will surely satisfy your heart’s desires and please all palates.
