Friendly staff and fantastic cocktails. I would say the best bar on Disney property! Hands down beats the new beak and barrel and ogas cantina. True classic , true brilliance.

We stopped in here for a quick drink on our way back to the room one night. It was kind of late, so there was plenty of seating available. We didn’t order food because we had just left Epcot and the Flower and Garden Festival, so I can’t comment on that. We just had a few beers. It was nice, the service was good.

This is a review based on my visit there in November 2025. I was not staying at the Polynesian (if only), so I crossed fingers and toes to pop over and add myself to the Grog Grotto waiting list. I checked out the resort to the extent I could and happily timed the Tiki Terrace right at opening. I was THRILLED to learn you can gain any of the tiki mugs on the terrace and pick up the mug once done. Wait staff was very helpful in educating me on this, as well as noting ability to slightly modify some of the drinks.
I did ultimately get into the Grog Grotto, but if you don’t want to wait and hope to get in, the Tiki Terrace is a nice setting.

Good outdoor environment but inside is a bit small and tight and not really query the long waits to get a seat. Food is limited but good. Drinks are good but mostly sweet drinks, expensive, and mediocre beer on the menu. Staff is nice and accommodating.

We spent an enormous amount of time preparing for our trip to DisneyWorld, and thank goodness we did. I have a lot of reviews to post and while I’m going to focus primarily on recognizing the outstanding experiences, I will take the time to also point out a few “way over-rated” experiences such as Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at the Polynesian Hotel.
The Trader Sam’s at Disney Land is amazing. High energy, stellar atmosphere, fully engaged and outgoing staff, dangerously awesome drinks, etc. Trader Sam’s at the Polynesian???? Not even close.
First time we arrived just before closing, and in spite of a very, very subdued atmosphere, we thought we would try another night, because of the Disney World reputation and what we had read from others. What a mistake.
Drinks mediocre, service was slow, staff wasn’t engaged, new manager didn’t seem to know what was going on, no energy, ultimately very boring and disappointing and even worse they starting closing everything down 30-45 minutes before closing. Taking away candles, constantly checking on be able to take your half full glasses, etc. What a negative message that is. Customers on each side of us, also notice this and verbally shared their disappointment. It wasn’t just us.
Having made the effort twice with so much hype and anticipation, we can only hope that we were just unlucky. Bottom line: If you walk in and pick up a less than expected vibe, time to turn around and go upstairs to the Tambu Lounge. Great drinks, high energy, very positive vibes.

It’s Disney so you expect it to be expensive but I feel $19 (each) for two small plastic cups of alcohol is a little extreme. However, it was delicious and Rob is the most charismatic person you will ever meet. He was so fun. We have eaten at the Tiki Terrace in the past and loved the food as well. The Polynesian Resort is a very beautiful place to visit and stroll around.

Waiting to get into the Grotto & the vibes were absolutely there you guys. Drinks are the same just in to-go cups (unless you get the pearl!) The flatbread was so good, we ordered 3

I love the Dark and Stormy drink here and if you pay and extra dollar they double the liquor and make it what they call
a Category 5 and it’s so good and such a great value.
Often times there is a musician out here by the beautiful waterfall that sings Hawaiian songs.
The ambiance is so beautiful.

While park hopping from EPCOT to Magic Kingdom, I wanted to get one more cocktail. I stepped off the resort monorail at the Polynesian and followed the signs to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto but found out there was a hour and a half wait. The ladies inside the Grotto directed me outside to Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace. Same drinks without the wait. There were many tables outside with umbrellas. They had Complimentary Water (so Complimentary it told me I looked nice). There was someone performing music on the patio as well, but at a pleasant volume. You could still enjoy a conversation and hear the music. On a day less sweltering, I’d definitely be happy to chill on the terrace and enjoy the views and island vibes. From the Terrace, I went to the launch to enjoy a boat ride to Magic Kingdom. I will definitely make this a regular stop when park hopping. I recommend the Spiced Island cocktail.

Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is an excellent spot to hang out and enjoy some great drinks and appetizers.
The ambience is fantastic, especially at night when there is live music being played. There are plenty of seat-yourself tables so there typically will not be a wait. A server will take your orders from your table, but there is also a walk up bar for drinks if you’d prefer to do that.
The menu here is the same as Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto inside. Every cocktail I’ve tried here has been delicious, with my current favorites being the Spiced Island and Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum. They have a nice selection of appetizers as well, and I particularly enjoyed the lettuce cups. This is a great place to check out on your visit, definitely recommend!
