So good and so dangerous being right down the street… The honey butter dusted fried chicken is like if Crispy Crunchy and farmer’s market kettle corn had a beautiful baby. Do yourself a favor and get some spicy kimchi rice with your chicken for that hot sauce style heat on the side. Bomb!

I think we found our favorite Korean fried chicken spot in the East Bay. We are usually bon chon chicken lovers but Vons is definitely giving them a run for their money.
We ordered to go; no indoor seating. We got the honey cheese and garlic wings. Super crispy with perfect amount of batter. Wing size were pretty big. Friendly service; will be back!

Haven’t been to vons since they moved from the Castro Valley location. This place is takout only as there are no tables.
We ordered the mixed butter chicken and the mixed yang nyum chicken. Both came out fast. They were okay, just as I remembered it.

Man, this spot just started serving bubble tea! I grabbed the Thai tea with boba today, and it’s seriously good. Highly recommend it. The flavor’s legit. Service is on point, and everything’s made fresh. Hands down, my go-to fried chicken joint in the Bay Area!

I really enjoyed this little spot in Castro valley! The gentleman at the counter was so nice and welcoming. We order the lunch specials and i must say, we got our bang for the buck. Must try is the crispy honey butter and the pot stickers were bomb too. We will be back for sure.

They gave me the wrong order. I wanted extra spicy boneless and i got boneless but this is not spicy. So check your food before leaving and i wouldve drove back but they were closed. The boneless is good and crunchy but im disappointed that they would do that

I never post about restaurants. I love the yangnyum and I had not eaten at this Vons. I came in on Saturday 5/13 around 6:30. It was such a disappointment. The chicken was almost nonexistent. Super thin and not big juicy pieces like I have had in Dublin and in Berkeley area. It looked like they had pounded chicken flat with a mallet first. It was a little ridiculous to be honest for a $16 order. There wasn’t a lot of sauce either. Very, very light sauce which is sort of funny considering the name of the dish and definitely not what I am used to with this dish. Sauce it up guys and use bigger chicken! I would give it another shot but I kinda wonder if the poor quality and the wait had anything to do with the awkward tipping moment?
I go to pay and at the end of the transaction the cashier spins the register screen. The screen is in Korean. I normally would tip but I am taking it to go A. and B. I just couldn’t read the screen. Usually I just enter a dollar amount with the custom tip button but I couldn’t find it in this case. I couldn’t figure out how to continue and it was getting a little awkward. I had to ask him, “I dont know what this says. what would you like me to do?” They seemed nice. Maybe they will make it right. The photo is of just breading. Very sad plate.
My stomach kinda hurt after eating it. Hopefully thats just the breading bubbling. A little burnt and a little concerned.

Was excited to see that Vons opened up a location in Castro Valley. Tried their lunch special. Chicken was hot, crispy and tasty. Only thing that bothered me was that there was a $1 extra charge for the garlic chicken and the honey butter chicken. I asked the server specifically if we could order any of the choices and he didn’t mention anything about the additional charge, nor is it stated on the menu. I don’t mind paying and didn’t argue when the bill arrived but I do expect to be told up front. They didn’t have the oven for the oven chicken yet so will have to go back and try it another time.
